It depends on where in Australia. The time difference is anywhere from +13 to +16 hours difference from New York. So somewhere between 1100 Feb 3 to 1400 Feb 3.
Here is a list of Australian cities and the time differences:
Australian Capital Territory - Canberra *+16 hours, New South Wales - Sydney * +16 hours, Northern Territory - Darwin* +14:30 hours, Queensland - Brisbane* +15 hours, South Australia - Adelaide * +15:30 hours, Tasmania - Hobart * +16 hours, Victoria - Melbourne * +16 hours, Western Australia - Perth* +13 hour.

go to support page on casio. and get your manual. youll probably gonna look for a 3 or 4 digit number located at the back of your watch. once you got the manual. go to page 4. and follow the steps of "Hand Home Position Correction". that should fix it.

You can easily set the time of your Armitron watch by following the steps below.

1. Press the MODE button once. This will put you in the timer.

2. Press and hold down the MODE button. This will put you in the alarm set display.

3. Press the MODE button once more and it will put you in the time set display.

4. Use the ST/SP button to change the blinking portion of the time. Then use RESET button to move you thru the different parts of the time/date.

Offhand, I would say yes to the battery replacement. Though watches are not within my immediate field. This would be based on your post "2-5 minutes behind". As to the "lost signal" after a reset, may I request that you post back the specific model number pls.

1. Press and hold the mode button until it starts to blink, then release.
   
2. First the alarm time will come up.
   
3. Press the mode button once to get to the time and date.
   
4. The seconds will flash first. 
   
5. Press the st/stop button to toggle between the seconds, hour, minutes, date (month and day) and day of the week.
   
6. Press the lap/reset button to change the values.
   
7. When done, press the mode button again to return to normal.
   

The watch thinks at Noon it is really midnite, so you must scroll 12 hours ahead to repair this. There are usually 2 "clicks" on the stem of the watch when you pull it out, 1 will set time, 1 will set the day/date, be careful to pay close attention to which is happening when you pull out the stem, and setting should go well after that.
