Unless your version of Android allows you to move around app, you need a rooted phone. Then you need a special program, to make it possible to install an app in your external memory. Or at least to install an app that is on your external memory (SD card) into your main memory. Be aware if your phone has a small internal memory (8 or 16 Gbyte) it can be filled up very soon. Not only with the apps, but also with data, like mails and docs (pictures and so on) you have to have in your internal memory, so the phone can access them.
As soon as your internal memory is close to full you can't install anything. SO make sure a few Gb is free before you try to install anything.
