SYMPTOMS


When you attempt to run a 16-bit program on a computer running Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 3, the program may quit immediately, or you may receive the following error message:

The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction.
CS: 04c3 IP:3937 OP:c71c 9d 37 00
Choose Close to terminate the application.

When you click Close, you may receive several similar error messages.


CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you use an incorrect version of the Command.com file. For example, this issue is known to occur if you use a Command.com file included in Microsoft Windows 95, dated 7/11/95.


RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, replace the Command.com file in the Winnt\System32 folder with the same file from another computer that is running Windows NT Workstation 4.0 or Windows NT Server 4.0, and then make sure that there are no Command.com files dated 7/11/95 on the computer. You can also replace the Command.com file on the computer with the same file on the Windows NT installation CD-ROM.

Yours problem can be system, or hardware.
First try in bios disable integrated pheriperals, like modem, lan, sound, and try boot.
If the trouble still here, try install new system with full format hard drive.
If you still have a problem, you have some hardware problem,something like procesor heathing.

Please check the back of the packaging for your game and see that your computer meets minimal requirements also older games will not work due to age. If this game predates 2000 you may not be able to play it with out tweaking windows.

2. Apply or reapply the latest appropriate Windows NT service pack, and then restart the computer.
3. Set the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Service to start automatically:
   1. Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Services.
   2. On the Service list, click Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Service, and then click Startup.
   3. Under Startup Type, click Automatic, and then click OK.
4. Restart your computer.

I know you can Upgrade to XP at a discount from NT (actually it works from any pervious version of Windows to XP) but there is no Update from NT to XP.
I've been doing IT work for a long time, and I am a registered Microsoft Partner, and I have never heard of an Update to XP.

If you do mean upgrade to XP, here's how I would do it.
Get a copy of XP (preferably Pro, the upgrade version is fine, and you can still fine it a number of places). What they don't tell you about upgrade versions is that it is a full copy of XP, that just have a sequence that need the previous key to continue.
Use the XP disk to format, and begin the load.
During the install, it will ask for the qualified version of Windows you are upgrading from. You put in the NT CD, and it will continue the install (you just have to swap CD's back and forth a couple of times).
The previous version does not need to be installed.

If the NT is the only disk you have, and you don't want to purchase the XP upgrade, there is a whole process that you have to go through.
You do have to create 3 floppies that have the boot and load sequence.
This is not a real user friendly install, but it can be done.

I personaly would spend the time and money to find a copy of XP. Here again, your end product is going to be something you are much happier with.

you need to use windows 2k drivers with windows 2k cant use them on nt
go to battery plus for battery

USB is not available with NT4.0 It will be available with Windows2000 however. I'm running NT on both my workstation and laptop and am buying the F505 myself as soon as I find a dealer that stocks them.
