IBM personal wheelwriter 2. Carrier does not return when you push the "return" button.

If cleaning and oiling the shaft doesn't work, the carrier motor is probably bad. Is there any noise when you hit return?

Manuals are available (scanned) on the Lexmark website under the Publications button on the left hand side of the homepage. At the bottom of the Publications page is a pull down menu for IBM typewriters. Find your model on the pull down menu and it will bring up a PDF of the scanned copy. Sure beats buying one!
