The most likely cause is a faulty gear/gears or a faulty shift mechanism.

If you do not have experience fixing large mixers, I suggest calling in a qualified service technician.

My chef A901 started to smell and leak oil. I started to dismantle it but found that a service manual is needed. Kenwood will not supply this for "Health an safety" reasons. can anyone help please.

Not sure, but you could contact Sunbeam at 1-866-588-1081
and see if they can get you the power cord for your mixer.

Hi. Go to mendingshed.com. Look for the page titled Kitchenaid mixer parts. Near the top of the page, locate the FREE KA Service Manual. Download it. This valuable manual covers your K45SS mixer. In it you'll find what you need to adjust speeds and more.

If you haven't already, go to kitchenaid.com, select customer care and then select locate manuals, select it. Enter your model# in the search window in this manner, k45sswh. When you get to the manuals page scroll down and find the parts list for your mixer. It will come in handy if you ever need to order parts.

Download this valuable manual, it will help you to diagnose and repair your mixer. Mending Shed also sells KA parts. If you order parts directly from kitchenaid be prepared to wait for at least a month for the parts to arrive.

Hi . Chevron FM ALC EP-2 grease is what you need for the lubricant. This has a Mineral Oil base, allowing for it to, at some time, drip into whatever it is that you mix without concern for your health. From what I can, tell this is the only thing that needs to be done. Clean out as much of the old grease as possible.

Goto www.mendingshed.com and download for free a Kitchenaid Service Manual that will cover your mixer.
