Our Sony TV at work will not give us the option to turn off sleep mode permanently.
As we want to keep our company website running throughout the day on the screen without everyone having to click the remote when the screensaver 'sleep mode' is on.

It sounds like you have a virus.
Go to Microsoft website and download and run security suite.
Then to fix sleep mode check your shutdown and sleep settings (sounds like they were altered)
Run Malwarebytes its a free program you can download from google.
After doing this should be better but keep Malwarebytes and run monthly.
This may help some (22Jun2022): MFC-9840CDW using wi-fi option to connect, currently running on Windows 11 and for a long while, years even Windows 10, I too was constantly having a problem of this machine going into sleep mode and not coming out when wanting to print, the driver/firmware is the latest from the brother's support site for this model. The actual printer machine: no status light, says "Sleep" and the "menu key button" does not respond (need this key to respond). The PC, the brother printer icon does show in the control panel but do not have the "set as default printer" option. I assume in sleep or deep mode the PC does not see the actual printing device. In my case, Brother PC-Fax v.2.1 was selected and I could still scan a document to my PC. Fix action (need to turn off sleep mode on the printer itself): turn off printer (maybe wait 5 min, probably don't have to wait). turn printer back on, it cycles itself the status light on the printer should be green, at this point the printer should work as normal. But you should immediately turn off "sleep mode" because once it goes into sleep mode it no longer responds. Press the "Menu" key, enter "general setup" press "OK" button, arrow down to "ecology" (6) press "OK" button, select "Sleep Time" enter 000, press "OK" should respond with "accepted". After I did this, I currently have no status light and it still says "sleep" just like before. I just did this and it's been a couple of hours and I can print a test page whereas before I could not. And the icon in the control panel is as it should be, a check mark showing its the default printer. Hopefully, this is a permanent fix at least until I replace this printer.
Sounds like either your computer is in hibernation mode or your TV is set to sleep, what type of connection to your computer are you using? I do believe in this model Vizio there is a sleep option on each of the Video sources. But I would guess its your computer going into either sleep mode or in your running windows 7 Hybrid sleep mode.
Check ur Sleeping timer modes, see it is not on like 30,60,120 mins?If ur Sleeping timer modes is off.Than ur tv power supply board is the causes and the problems,it not consistinly giving ur tv the right voltages anymore that why ur tv it turning off intermittently. That the board, where the power a/c cord plug into it.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.
Unplug, replug the tv like an hour later. The tv should reset itself back to the factory setting.Just don't know,it will get rit of this sleep mode setting thought.U can try website like Remotes.com to buy an exact remote to the original.
Try unpluging your T.V. for 5hours+, then turn it back on. Worked for It's called a "hard reset" by sony.
Otherwise
Do the following steps
Check the Sony remote for a button labeled "Sleep." This allows you to cycle through the sleep settings and determine how long you want the TV to remain on.
Step 2 Press the "Sleep" button. You'll see a number come up onscreen: usually 15 or 90. When you press it again the number changes, moving up and down in increments of 15. This is the number of minutes the TV will remain on before it goes to sleep. As you cycle through it, you should see a setting with the words "Sleep Off" appear onscreen. If you leave it there, the sleep setting should cancel, allowing you to turn the set off when you like. If you miss it, just keep pushing the "Sleep" button. It will continue to cycle through the options until "Sleep Off" appears once again.
Step 3 Access the timer function to shut off the timer by pressing the "Menu" button, then cycling through the onscreen options until you reach the "Applications" setting. Press it, and then cycle through to the "Clock/Timers" option.
Step 4 Highlight the "Timer 1" setting and press the "+" button. If it's showing a given time, you'll need to deactivate it. Use the up and down arrows and move through the possible options until you come to the "Off" setting. Leave it there; that should shut the timer off.
Step 5 Repeat the process with the "Timer 2" setting, a little further down the "Clock/Timers" menu. Set it to the "Off" position just as you did with the "Timer 1" setting.
Step 6 Press the "Menu" button when you are done to exit the menu and return to the screen. You should be able to view the Sony TV as normal with no danger of it turning off.
One possibility is if you have an optical/laser mouse that is on a relective surface and the mouse light is reflecting and triggering the computer to think that there is activity.
More than likely, your network card is keeping your computer from staying in sleep mode as any internet data activity is taking the computer out of sleep mode making the computer think there is activity.
There is an option in the Network Adapter properties that says to "Allow this device to wake up your computer"
Go to Control Panel and click Classic View on the left hand side
Double Click the Network and Sharing Centre Icon.
On the left hand side of the window that opens, click Manage Network Connections.
Right Click on the connected Network Connection. It is probably the Local Area Connection. Right click on it and choose Properties
A new box will open up. Click the Configure button under the Connect Using: box
Click the last tab at the top that says Power Management.
Under the Power Management tab click the square box that is beside: Allow this Device to Wake the Computer to take the checkmark out of the box. Then Click OK at the botton and close all the windows.
Let the computer go into Sleep mode and see if the computer still comes out of sleep mode on its own.
u can leave it on. as long as it has the power plugged to it the hard drive will remain running. it works just like a computer when a it goes on sleep mode
