all you have to do is remove the back, the little tab at the bottom. Pull out the batter and insert the SIM card in the middle slot. Insert the SIM card so the cut corner is facing top left. Follow the picture. Then re-insert the battery and backplate.

Possible that the SIM card detection holder has shifted and so the SIM card is not read or in right position in the holder to contact the connections of the Module.
Remove the SIM card and look into the slot, clean and push up the contacts to touch a little tight when the SIM is inserted. If the SIM is still not detected then there are cracks in the main board.

Check to make sure its not Backward...
2. Check the Sim card it self for damage the contact terminals should not be scratched or touching one another

Locate the SIM card on the phone. Generally the card is stored under the battery. You'll probably have to remove the back cover before you can slide out the battery. Be sure the phone is turned off before doing this.

Remove the battery and look for the SIM card. It is usually white or yellow with circuitry printed on it. Sometimes it has text on it as well. The card may be as small as a thumbnail.

Remove the SIM card, which is usually held in place by a metal clip. To unlock the clip, lift it up or slide it up or down. Gently lift or slide the SIM card up and out of the clip. You may need a pair of tweezers.

Blow around the area where the SIM card had been lodged to disperse any dirt or dust.

Look for any water, dirt or grime that may have gotten into the phone or on the SIM card. Use a soft cloth to gently wipe the SIM card, the battery and the area around the SIM card compartment. Make sure to use a fine cloth that will not tear or catch on circuitry and other metal parts.

Inspect the SIM card for damage such as cracks. If the SIM card appears undamaged, firmly return it to its home in the clip. The SIM card circuitry should be face down so that it is touching the metal connectors on the phone. Slide the clip back into place to secure the SIM card.

Replace the battery and any casing. Turn the phone on. If the SIM card has been cleaned and properly placed back into the phone, it should function properly.

Contact your cell phone service provider if the SIM card is still rejected. You may need to replace it.

your phone freezes, if that is the case, there is a possible way to back up your photos, if your photos are stored on your media card/memory card, just remove the memory card and keep it or insert it to a laptop card slot reader or a memory card reader for desktops, also, remove your sim before software upgrade. you don't need your sim card and memory card for a software upgrade or reflash, this is sometimes the mistakes of upgrades, they didn't tell you to remove your card and sim, jet's have their offline profile mode, from there you can do everything without your sim card.
try to do these for trouble shooting and fixes.
1. switch off your phone.
2. remove your battery, remove your sim and remove your memory card.
3. reinsert your battery, and switch on your phone,
if your phone touch panel does not freeze, here's what you can do.
>> on your phone press keypad, type these code to make a hard reset. *2767*3855#. then wait till it finish hard resetting. check the touch screen again if it freezes, if not, reinsert everything again, including your sim and memory card and check.
>>if, after switching on the phone and touch screen freezes, then the best way is to go to your service center and have them check your phone.

>>don't do a reflash yourself if your phone is still under warranty and you don't know how to do it. the cause will be a dead phone for just a mistake and you may lose your warranty.

no problem.. jus remove your sim card and reinsert it. .sometime it may happen like this..

this happen if there is some problem in the sim card holder port ....

there will be loose contact inside the sim card holder is not touching the circuit board inside due to this your sim card is getting rejected ...

as you have told that the phone is a brand new one so i am sure that you will be having the warranty so just make use of it by contact the dealer with whom you have purchased or contacting the company customer care number to get more information about how to make use of your warranty ......

if you dont have the warranty then you must open the handset
and just remove the circuit board & sim card holder and insert it again so that the sim card holder touches the circuit board correctly ...
after this refit the phone then surely your sim will be accepted ....

it is better to use of warranty if you have ......
this is a simple problem if you dont have the warranty also you can only fix it ..
if you just open the handset & set that sim card holder to touch the circuit board that s enough everything will be done and works fine ...

if you are afraid of opening then you must just contact the technician ...
