at a very long shot you would have to identify two younglins one male one female and raise them in the same enclosure .. defanging may be required ... and wait a long time to see if they dont kill each other or breed

You're input has been most appreciated and i'll add 'most helpful' in the midst of it too... My partner and I have been so curious ever since such a subject came up with her work colleagues the other day... Two of them were addoment that both these breeds were able to cross breed with each other... I've been on and offline the past 6 or so hrs exploring everything I could think of... As i have said, both breeds are in population at our property, especially being summer etc, so we don't want to be getting possibly more snakes than usual around the place, or perhaps a cross bred snake that we may not anything about etc....

    Once again, thanks heaps...
    Regards, Drew

Do all poisonous snakes have round tails?

To identify venomous snakes quickly, without going too close, it helps to remember that they are fatter than harmless snakes, and usually taper at the neck and tail, while the non-poisonous varieties tend to be thinner and evenly shaped from head to toe, like a garden hose. Venomous snakes have a skinny neck and a diamond-shaped head, like a spade. They also tend to be more colorful, and aggressive. To play it safe, never provoke any snake; leave the area as fast as you can.

Do akes lay eggs or do they birth

Dear Willi,
Snakes, being reptiles, lay eggs.
Just about all reptiles do.
As to whether there are eggs laid in your house, that is a really good question, since snakes do go into homes to lay eggs on occasion.
Since poison would not hurt them much, but it might you, I should refrain from using poison.
I forget the time it takes to hatch them, but you might wish to do a house inspection for the next few months as a regular daily routine.
The name of the snake you found is a black racer, and they are harmless to people and animals, but they eat lots of bugs and sometimes mice.
God bless your efforts.

Snake pit in back yard, under wood pile. How do I find snakes, and snake pit. And keep them away?

Hi Judy:
Don't know how your question got in the Cars and Trucks section, but had to reply anyway.
Can you give us a hint of your general location, and the kind of snakes you are dealing with?
If the snakes are not presenting a hazard to people they actually may be beneficial by eating rodents or other pests.
My suggestion would be to contact the local Government Conservation Officer for appropriate information.
Please reply as a comment to this post to let us know how it is resolved.
Cheers.
