My land line is 011-704-4180.Continuos crackling on the line. Have been many times to the Fourways Crossing shop, been given ref nos but nothing happens.

This has been going on for nearly three months. Recent Ref nos 5688558617 and 517562 [30-08-16]. The last visit to the Fourways Crossing Telkom was two weeks ago. Manager sent an e-mail to Telkom but nothing has happened. Line is worse with the crackling. Am a pensioner who needs the land line. If no improvement will have to have the line disconnected. I have had a land line installed in my new residence in Plettenberg bay Western Cape There is SEVERE crackling noise on the line and can't be used. Please help

Hello, Michael -

First, please use the Edit feature and remove your land line and cell phone number, along with your address and name from the question. All that information will be a gold mine to someone wanting to commit ***** and identity theft.

Then, contact the business/person who installed your land line phone (make a phone call), explain the problem, and ask for a repair technician to come to your home and make whatever repairs are needed.

Best wishes.

This is common for land line phones. Usually caused by dirty or corroded contacts inside the phone or wiring.

Telkom faults

Telkom :They could'nt solve my problem properly for over 6 mths.It was an on & off issue - only thing they was send out acc.every month. Eventually they ran 2 acc.nos. for the same phone no.I eventually cancelled my line & settled for my cell.
Keep a proper record of all calls made to them --
date -time- person u spoke to-& insist on a ref.no.& keep your acc.bills.
They are not very helpful but are quick to threaten u with legal action.
Best of luck '''''''

Is there a penalty on crossing the field's line?

There are two types of penalties regarding crossing lines at fencing. One is crossing the lateral boundary with one or both foot results in the loss of 1 meter distance. Two is crossing one's own end of the strip with both feet results in a point being awarded to the opponent.

Freezer Noises from Refridgerator

You are hearing the defrost mode. Your unit is set up on a timer system which means that every 8 to 10 hours it sends the unit into a defrost mode. In this mode an actual heater, much like the one in your oven, is actuated to defrost the coil that has built up frost. The crackling is the heat causing the frost to melt much like when you pull ice out of the ref and it starts to crackle and pop as it heats up. The hissing is the frost water dripping onto the heating element. You have nothing to worry about. It is working as it should. And if you are wondering where all that water goes...well it goes to a drain pan on the bottom of the ref which is evaporated by the fan that blows across it and the heat that comes from the compressor and hot gas lines.
