Yes it is the dc socket that you will use to charge your battery . It charges right on the camcorder itself with your ac adaptor . make sure the camcorder is in off postion for it to charge.

recently bought a used jvc camcorder gr-d290 but even when l pu tthe battery on charge for hours it goes flat in less than twenty minutes . what can be the problem?
Are you trying to charge it with the camcorder or a seperate battry dock. Some of them won't charge through the camcorder but only throught the dock. what type of camera and other specifics would help you get better results.
