Compaq Presario SR2020NX will not turn on at all. Any ideas, people?

I could not figure out the relationship of the hard disk with the memory.
try change the memory dimms put 512 in bottom and 1gb in the other possition and see what amount of ram you get

According to the specifications it is a PCIEX16 expansion slot. (PCI-E x16)

A PCI-Express x1 slot has 36 contact pins. 18 on each side.

In comparison a PCI slot {White} has 124 contact pins. 62 on each side.

Looking at the photo of the supposed PCI-E x1 slot they show, the black PCI-Ex1 slot is longer than the white PCI slots.

It is a PCI-Express x16 slot with 164 pins. 82 on each side.



The Asus ATI Radeon HD6450 uses a PCI-Express x16 expansion slot.

So you know the graphics card will fit. Low-profile to boot.

Power requirement:
The Compaq Presario SR2020NX desktop computer comes with a 300 Watt power supply.
(Although in actuality it's more like 70 percent of the maximum rated wattage. 210 Watts)

Enough power for the computer, and the graphics card.
ATI graphics cards do not use as much power as a comparable Nvidia graphics card.

Concerned that the Asus graphics card uses DDR3 graphics ram memory, and the Presario SR2020NX uses DDR2 Sdram ram memory?

Don't be. The graphics cards graphics memory runs independent of the computer's ram memory.

This is an older model computer, and therefore it can't utilize the large amount of RAM that more current models can.

The Presario 6025EA has two DIMM slots and comes with 256MB of RAM installed. The maximum amount of RAM that can be installed is 1GB. To upgrade to this, you will need two 512MB DDR-266 (PC2100) RAM modules.

Your new RAM is PC2-5300 .It is more than supported by your Computer.
Your computer model will support Max of 2GB RAM but speed supported is PC2-4200.

there is problem with u'r SMPS. repare it or change a new one

The Compaq Presario 700 US Will only hold a max of 384mb of PC133 RAM. 256mb is the biggest chip you can add.

be sure that the memory u got is compatible in your presario 5352. I tell you that adding 512mb to current 64 mb maybe a problem. you should remove the 64mb and replace it by 512mb and be sure that the new memory is compatible. want more information about your presario go to www.hp.com then search "compaq presario 5352"
