With out a brand name , replacement will be difficult
consider this
get a sheet of ply or a wide board of timber ( around 1/2" thick ---12mm) and design your own
cut out with a jigsaw --paint to suit ---and bolt to existing frame

SOURCE: generation 2 worldwide toddler bed lost all hardware (screws, etc

You should not attempt to buy hardware to reassemble the crib. Gen 2 has had recall problems with their products. One of the ways a recall is performed is to have the customer send the hardware to the company instead of the whole assembly, rendering it useless. If you received one without hardware, it was probably recalled.

I have a WESTBURY COT BED and one of the drop side guide pins has broken and needs to be replaced.

No! And this is a critical component. I hate to tell you but you should throw the drop side away. You can use as a toddler bed or headboard and footboard to a twin, but it is unsafe as a crib and this is a prime example of why drop sides were banned.

Are there different types of toddler beds or a standard type in different styles?

There are quite a few varying types of toddler beds in the market. The first kind I will mention is a convertible crib. The great thing about a convertible crib is that it will last much longer. Some parents also find that a convertible crib eases the transition phase. Next there is the "captain bed" also known as a storage bed. This bed has built-in compartments everywhere - under the bed frame, in the footboards, even in the headboards. There are other types of toddler beds such as loft toddler beds, futon toddler beds, and platform toddler beds; however I think they are less popular and ultimately less safe for your toddler.

Are there any cons to buying a toddler bed for my child?

Yes there are. We all know that children during these years grow very quickly. Most toddler beds can hold up to 50 lbs., which means that your child will eventually grow out of it. The second downfall to note is the durability. Most toddler beds are made out of plastic, so they are not the most resilient items.

Should I get a pure wood bed or plastic is good too. There is a huge difference in prices

If you plan on getting a toddlers bed and youare trying to save money I would go for the plastic - just make sure it is agood brand - you do not want the accidents. I would save the money to buyteenage pure bed (when your child grows up a little) and then you at least knowits money well spent and it will serve you for many years.

Converting crib to toddler bed

It should have come with the toddler rail when you purchased the crib.  Simply remove a few screws and take the front of the crib off (what would be the footboard).  Then simply slide the toddler rail in the tracks.
A purchase of adult rails is required to make the conversion to a full size bed for the next step.
What color is the crib?  Call at 770-974-8895 if we can help with your toddler rail.
