you cannot order book from gift card directly due to deduction in charges and card balance instead you can in-cash your gift card in store and buy a book using cash or your bank card by depositing the money in your account.

Even with a balance, some cards a minimum 4.95 per month just to have the card. If you haven't used it lately the fees will zero out the balance.
