try to turn it on without any cards inserted. also rub an eraser over the contacts on your sim card...sometimes dirty contacts can be the problem. another thing to try is to check the phones compatability with the area of the world you are in...(GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHZ). check the settings within your phone as well to see if your sim cards status is turned on and last but not least...is the sim card in the right way?? sometimes it might be upside down.....i have a sciphone i9+++ dual sim quad band and when i first got it...i put the card in upside/backwards down..lol... its all good now.i hope this helped.
For I9 support visit to following website: http://www.i9forum.co.uk/. You will have to register to access the site. For your sim card turn it over. It should face up in the bottom bracket and down if you are inserting it into the top bracket. I hope this helps.
I guess your phone has not been unlocked yet. Unlocked
phones do not have any specific carrier software and work with all GSM
carriers. These include T-Mobile, Cingular and AAAA . Multi-band
unlocked phones also will work with carriers in other countries. So I guess you need to unlock your phone so that u can enjoy in your country.
I see that this had been a while. The reason that your Sim cad doesn't work could be various:
1. Make sure that your phone is quad band, if it's a tri band then make sure that ATT works in 1900mhz. If it works only in 850 and your i68+ is a tri band, (which is not suppose to) then it will never work. As far as I know all i68+ original are quad band, some fakes i68+ are sold as quad band but are actually tri-band.2. If you ATT sim card is a 3g card, it won't work either. These phones are not yet equip to work with 3g.I hope this clear up at least a little of your doubt with the Sciphone.
hey,i just got mine yesterday and i experience the same thing but i figured out how to do it on my own.im a fourteen year old and was surprised that i got it but heres how you get it to work...
first, go to settings and hit dual sim settings.
second, theres gonna be four options theres:dual SIM open, only SIM1 open, only SIM 2 open,or flight mode.depending on what slot you put your sim card in thats the one youll choose,i put mine in the first slot so i hit only SIM1 open.\
next, you take the back off of your phone and double check that your sim card is in the correct slot.
then, put the back of your phone back on and turn your phone on.
finally, when it turns on your network should come up the the top where it used to say insert SIM1 or insert SIM2, and i have at&t so when i turned mine on single showed up at the top right under the little symbols at the top.
We had the same problem on both of our new sciphones. After long hours of research we finally found an easy solution to it so hope this helps.
1) Shut down your phone completely (you will know because a red sign will come up on your phone and you have to confirm that you are shutting it down).
2) Take our your battery and then your sim card
3) Make sure that your sim card is in the right way. (It has to be on the highest slot, not the one closest to the bottomof the phone, and the metal plates have to be facing down, or towards the phone).
4) Reinsert your battery and then start your phone up again
5) Go to restore factory settings and plug in the code 1122 when it asks for one. NOTE: Your phone will reboot, and when it turns on it should be okay.
We tried everything and this is the only thing that worked. We had t-mobile sim cards for both phones and it worked fine. Good luck!
flip the sim card over and cutoff the other sim slot example"if chip is face down make it face up" if that doesnt work switch to other sim slot and repeat the steps above if that doesnt work you can go to this link for more help
okay turn your phone off take the back off ,battery and take the sim card out now put the battery back in with out sim card .. turn on. now go open sim and close sim 2... turn off...remove back and battery put sim card in slot 1 make sure its in all the way put battery and back on ... turn the phone on... give it a few minutes it should work....
first make sure your sim is inserted correctly. bottom is sim slot 2 the gold chip needs to face up, the top sim slot is sim slot 1 make sure chip is facing down. then makes sure you have both slots open go to SETTINGS>DUAL SIM SETTINGS> DUAL SIM OPEN> then click ok. Try moving your sim cards to each of the 2 different slots.
