After about 30-35 minutes of use my treadmill shuts off. The screen goes blank and the belt stops. After about thirty seconds the machine comes back to life and I can reprogram it again to restart.

This happens whether I am walking or running. The machine is ten years old. It has not been abused or subjected to anything more than moderate speeds at no incline. Shortly after I purchased the machine, it stopped working. After my complaint was ignored by Life Fitness for weeks I threatened to sue the retailer I purchased the machine from. That finally prompted Life Fitness to send a service person who ended up replacing the board. Unfortunately, the script on the board was unreadable, displaying only scrolling gibberish. I suspect it was used. Although I complained and asked for a replacement replacement it was never sent by Life Fitness. Without being able to interface with the board I was only able to use the machine in the most basic manner using the few controls that actually worked. I mention this because I will not be able take advantage of any suggestions that require using a diagnostic readout on the programmable screen.

Hi There, strange activity of the upper board could be a result of a bad power situation from the lower board, or we have also seen the main upper board flake out due to bad connections and failed timing parts. You can contact buyfitnessrepairpartsDOTcom for more help if needed. Good Luck.

Hello there. Is the model of the device 91T? If so, there are plastic covers on the engine. And there are motor coals there. You have to change them. It has been tested many times and has been fixed.

Based on the symptoms I would say the control board is defective.

Treadmill starts out fine, then stops after a few minutes under load - goes right back up to speed as soon as I step off the belt.his is an "iFit. com EKG2v"

The machine is struggling under load, it’s either a really badly damaged running belt with no lubrications. Or, a motor on the way out. Or, you are exceeding the weight limit of the treadmill.

My treadmill stops abruply after 20 minutes or so. what can be the problem /

This machine has what they call a thermal switch. It is designed to
shut the machine off if it gets too hot. This heat is caused by
friction. Friction is caused 99% of the time by the walking belt or
the drive belt. If it is the drive belt then it can be solved by
either applying a treadmill lubricant (must be made for treadmill
belts) or by purchasing a new belt. If you feel the underneath side
of the belt and you feel a screen door type feeling you just need
lubricant. If you feel a smooth surface you will probably need a
new belt. If you have lubricated in the past year and your belt has
the screen door feel then take off the motor hood cover and check
the drive belt. If it is worn then you will need to replace that.
You can purchase either of these products from the manufacturer, at www.iconservice.com. a couple of other places that may have them for discounts are www.ebay.com, www.fitnessrepairparts.com, or www.treadmilldoctors.com.

try lubricating the running belt. Any decent sized fitness store should have a lubrication kit. Also, make sure the machine is plugged into a dedicated circuit. Meaning, there are no other devices on the same circuit as the treadmill. Not just the same outlet, but the entire circuit of the room you have the treadmill in. You also want to make sure it's not on any extension cords. Plug it into a surge protector (power bar with a cord less than 6') and then directly into the wall. Those are the 3 main culprits why treadmills shut down after a short period of time.

My epic T60 will go great for 10-15 minutes and then

These treadmills have what is called a thermal switch. It is designed to shut the machine off if it gets too hot. To help this problem you can purchase some treadmill lubrication. It is a waxy based substance that you put on the underside of the walking belt. That is the most inexpensive alternative. You may need to purchase a new walking belt. How you can tell if yours needs to be replaced is to put your hand on the underside of the walking belt. You should feel a texture like a screen door if it is in good condition. When you pull your hand out it should feel like you have been eating popcorn, a little greasy. This will prevent the overheating problem and not shut your machine off in the middle of workouts.

Walking speed for 2 hours and the machine just shut off would't turn back on for 20 minutes why?

The motor has a thermal protection device that will stop the motor if it becomes overheated. Eric

MY TREADMILL STOPS JUST A MINUTE AFTER STARTING.

Try Lubricating the belt with silicone spray.
Probably the resistence from the belt scraping over the ground board is too high, forcing the machine to switch off in order to prevent damage.

Its stopping because its drawing too much power.  most likely your belt needs lubricating on the underside.  check out your owners manual for instructions.  buy the lube from Icon fitness.  If that didn't help, then most likely your belt is already fried and will need replacement,
