Motor needed for Riccar 2500. YDK sewing motor YM-260-7 serial model 351001008-02. Any ideas?

Riccar machines have model numbers placed in 1 of several places on their machines governed by, I suppose, the whims of the manufacturer and the most common places are on the back underneath the motor mount, on the right end bottom under the handwheel, and just under the bed of the machine, front. These numbers are going to be on a metal plate attached by 2 or more rivets. Should you see 2 or more small holes in the casting in any of these locations, it is possible that the plate has been removed. The number that you have supplied is the serial number, and it can be very difficult to determine the model number from this information as the machine is manufactured at a number of different plants/locations.

You may find the motor is a YDK and you may need to go to a sewing machine shop for the correct fitting

Our YM-170C-A motor is similarly not working. Can you tell us if you fiound a way of sorting the problem please or likely supplier of replacement motor perhaps? A direct email would be great please.

You will need to take a drawing of the plug on the end of your machine and go to a dealer who will be able to identify the type, usually a model YDK

The motor is probably a YDK, what you need to do is take a drawing of the plug on the machine and go to your sewing machine shop and you will probably get one.

you will only get one from a Janome or New Home dealer or direct from Janome

Oh my goodness, you have had your use out of it. How lucky that it lasted this long but I am afraid it sounds like you need a new one. :(

I have a Riccar 210B sewing machine. It is about 37 years old. I have been the only owner and up to yesterday it was working fine. Today the motor seems to have quit.

Is the motor repairable? The tag on the motor says YM-40 80W 115V.
