Add garment light won't go off when Samsung front loader locks. Stops cycle from beginning - Samsung front loader model #WF42H5000AW/A2

Check the Door Latch and Alignment:
Ensure that the door is completely shut and latched. Sometimes, clothing or debris can get caught between the door and the latch, preventing proper closure. Make sure there's nothing obstructing the door.
Inspect the door seal for any damages. A damaged seal might not allow the door to close securely.

Child Lock Feature:
Samsung washers come with a child lock safety feature. If the child lock is engaged, it prevents accidental start of the wash cycle.

Check if the child lock is activated. If so, disable it and try running the wash cycle again.

Motor Control Unit (MCU) Inspection:
Visually inspect the Motor Control Unit (MCU) board for any burned spots. The MCU is located on the left side behind the lower access panel.
If you find burnt spots on the MCU, it might be the cause of the issue. You can order a replacement MCU if needed.

Other Troubleshooting Steps:
Reset the washing machine by unplugging it and then plugging it back in after a few minutes.
If the problem persists, consult a technician to inspect the lock mechanism or control board.

Rear door lock is making a horrible noise when it locks

most likely either a bent door locking rod or a bad acuator, you'll need to have that door panel removed to find out which.is door shutting all the way?nothing obstructing the door from properly closing? is the door locking slide switch in panel blocked in someway?try locking it manually to see how it feels, does it have free travel back and forth? if not then that panel will have to be removed to find the problem. hope this helps!!

Driver door sensor broken

inside the mechanical lock (The part that actualy holds the door shut when you close it) there is a switch that informs the control unit that the locking mechanism is either locked or unlocked. (door open or closed).

These switches fail sometimes, when this happens the control unit is not aware that you have closed the door
If the faulty switch is not informing the control unit that the door is closed, the central locking will not try to lock the door (because it thinks the door is still open).
The switch is integral with the lock unit, and they are not easy things to replace either.
remove the internal door trim. unplugg the wiring inside. remove the outer key barrel and unhook the cable from the outer handle to the lock unit. unbolt the lock unit. the window regulator will have to be unbolted from the window (remove the 2 plastic circular access panels and wind the window down to a level at which the 2 bolts are visible), lift the window clear once unbolted (using your hands, slide it upwards in its guide rails, stick it in place with tape).
once this is done the window regualtor can be unbolted (10 or so bolts) and removed, complete with the door lock.

Flashing locking door light

Re : Within the electrical enclosure exposed by removing the control panel, Look for a small silver and black device with 2 wires attached to the back.

That cames from an old thread and is a generic explanation of how it works. Here original reference
GE Profile Electric.

There is no electrical cylinder because the solution was referring to a different model and a different problem. In case linked above the door was locked, in your case door is clicking continuously, showing that there is a contact or a faulty door lock motor control.

If I was doing the repair I would start reading voltages on lock motor motor harness with motor wiring cut, this will tell you if contact is inside lock motor assembly or on control. The test can be done either from control side (easier access) or from lock motor, after disconnecting the harness.
If the control actuator keeps turning on and off , then replace the box in there, otherwise work on wiring harness and on lock motor.

This is not an easier repair, and tests with live power in there may be riskyd if you have not enough experience. If you are a beginner just inspect wiring with power off first, then replace control, and if that does not fix the problem replace wiring harness.

Here parts that must be tested, and relative diagrams:

LOCK MOTOR WIRE HARNESS (LCK MTR HARN) connects to part 999 on diagram.

LIMIT SWITCH(LOCK)
Part 158 on diagram.

ea2994c.gif

If problem is not in control or wiring harness, then check if there is a contact inside door lock assembly or on LOCK MOTOR connectors. If two connectors on picture below are making contact, that is the problem:

ba71f6f.gif

As a matter of principle , do not forget to leave feedback, or you may end up rewarding the person that copied and pasted a solution for the wrong problem.

Thanks, and thanks for asking Fixya.

F dL symbol on Whirlpool duet HT

It is saying there is a problem with your door Lock. when you close the door does it hold like it use too? try to open and close the door if it doesn't really close properly then you will just need a door latch. If the machine gives you an f11 code then its the main computer board that can also give your the door lock error. I would check the door first though.

Trouble code F DL

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, pls open the lower access panel (bottom of your washer) by removing the 3 torx screws. There would be a sheet that lists the error codes. The panel pulls forward and down, inside mounted on the right side taped to that inner panel would be the above described sheet. Additionally, to my knowledge, this indicates a door latch fault, the machine cannot activate the lock or senses that the door is not closed or the door is not locked.

In some instances, the error code F/DL could be triggered be a loose component. This could be that the plastic fitting on the door is loose and therefore will not latch on the locking assembly or the locking assembly itself is loose. You could then try opening and closing the door a couple of times.

Should this be not corrective, then the logic controller board may require close checking.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.

Whirlpool duet front load washer, DFL code

Here are the steps to unlocking the door manually
1.Unplug machine
2.remove bottom panel
3.Reach up along the inside of the front panel and locate the botttom of the door latch assembly
4.Located on the bottom of the door latch assembly is a tear dropped shaped tab
5. Gently pull down on the tab about a 1/4 inch or until a click is heard.
6. You may now open the door.

This code means the door lock mechanism has failed or the central control unit has failed. Replace the door lock mech. first. This should fix the problem. (before replacing anything make sure there is no obstruction around the switch or in the switch.) After the machine has been unplugged it may fix itself. if not replace door lock mech.
