The resistance belt on my nordictrack 1300 woulnt tighten. How do I fix it? Thanks for you assistance.

When using the NordicTrack in manualmode, you can adjust its resistance by twisting a resistance knob, locatedeither in the corner of the console or on the upright support. If the treadmillbelt slips from side to side, you need to adjust its tension via bolts locatedin the back of the machine frame. First find the treadmill adjustmentbolts in the rear end of the treadmill frame, to either side of the belt. Now putin an Allen wrench into each bolt, one at a time, and turn each bolt aquarter-turn clockwise. Slip one hand among the belt and the treadmill deck. Ifthis doesn't pull the treadmill belt taut, it's still too loose. Tighten thebolts another quarter-turn. Continue testing the belt tension, then adjustingthe bolts as needed, until the belt is just loose enough for you to slip yourhand between it and the deck with no extra slack. Step onto the treadmill andwalk. The belt shouldn't bind or slip side to side. If it does, dismount andre-adjust the bolts until the belt tracks correctly. AV

While using my Nordictrack a2550 this morning, the walking belt began to slip very badly. I checked the alignment and adjusted the tension of the belt as per the user's manual but the belt stills slip...

if it really is the walking belt that is slipping keep tightening the adjustment screws till the belt will not slip when you try to stop it ( set speed to about 3 and then with your foot try to stop belt from spinning - you should be able to make the motor and whole machine come to a stop ) make sure it is really walk belt spinning and it isnt the motor belt slipping. (if it is motor belt slipping when you try to do the stop the belt trick i just described you will see the walk belt and front roller stop but still hear the motor turning) once you get walk belt tight enough so it doesnt slip then you can worry about keeping the belt centered.

let me know if you need more help on this and let me know how the stop the belt test went

good luck!

How to adjust the running belt??

Check page 27 in the owner's manual:

"If the walking belt slips when walked on, first remove

the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD. Using

the allen wrench, turn both rear roller bolts clockwise,

1/4 of a turn. When the walking belt is correctly tightened,

you should be able to lift each side of the walking

belt 3 to 4 inches off the walking platform. Be

careful to keep the walking belt centered. Plug in the

power cord, insert the key, and carefully walk on the

treadmill for a few minutes. Repeat until the walking
belt is properly tightened."

You may simply need a local service provider to come look at it, you can use Google or enter your zip code here: http://www.fitnessrepairparts.com/find_a_servicer.php

I have a NordicTrack EXP1000. The walking belt was so far to the left that the edge began to fray. So, I adjusted the belt towards the right and now it slips forward now and then when it gets up to 3mph or...

If the walking belt slips when walked on, first remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD. Using the hex key, turn both idler roller bolts clockwise, 1/4 of a turn. When the walking belt is correctly tightened, you should be able to lift each edge of the walking belt 2 to 3 in. (5 to 7 cm) off the walking platform. Be careful to keep the walking belt centered. Then, plug in the power cord, insert the key, and carefully walk on the treadmill for a few minutes. Repeat until the walking belt is properly tightened.
If their is still slippage then the drive belt will need to be adjusted.
Find the motor mounts. Many motors in Icon treadmills have a main pivot joint in which a bolt runs the full length of the motor mount. This bolt will require loosening to provide maximum adjustability. Find the set bolt(s) on the motor.
This is typically run through only one side of the motor mount or may be on both sides but it does not run the full length of the mounting. Loosen this bolt but do not remove.

The drive belt must be tensioned by hand. While one person applied increased tension to the drive belt, the other person should tighten the motor set bolt(s) that are described above. Tighten the bolt and test. If the problem is not corrected, if problem persist replace drive belt
