Toyota corolla professional aerial problem, reception on radio

Some tints have metal in them so it might cause you grief but how is the radio when you wind down the windows ?
A power aerial might fix the problem put in the front fender and then run to the radio via a coaxial cable.
However in my car it was the radio that was the cause of the same bad reception and it worked on one channel only.
I have since replaced the radio but this may not be the cause of your problem and you would want to really know if the radio was the cause before incurring an expense of a new car radio.

My new Garmin Nuvi 1450 lost satellite signal more than 30 times between Topeka Ks and KCI. Is this normal?

I have the same exact problem. Satellite detection outside of vehicle before starting out was full strength, as soon as you get into vehicle strength drops off to practically nothing. Now start driving and it continually loses satellite reception even on the open road with no hills and a clear day. It was mounted as far into the front windshield as I could get it and still crappy reception. Very disappointing as a cheaper Tom Tom my sister has works flawlessly. Also my daughters HTC desire Z cell phone GPS works flawlessly even from the back seats in the van. Maybe 1450LMT is just junk, and I should look for a refund.

Reception is very poor. Grounding issues? Please

Reception has little to do with grounding. The ground plan is for transmitting. As long as the coax is connected and is in good standing, it should receive fine regardless of grounding.

There are a few reasons you may have bad reception.
  1. Turn the RF GAIN all the way up. This is your receive sensitivity.
  2. Squelch is too high. It should only be turned up enough to cut out the background noise.
  3. Poor antenna. If the antenna is cheap, and not made well, this could be the problem.
  4. Not enough of the antenna above the vehicle. It needs to be at least 60% of the antenna above the vehicle.
Hope this helps!

Jawbone bluetooth does not charge

My jawbone was not charging at all, but then I looked at the prongs on the charger and I saw that one of them was shorter than the others, so I got a pair of small needle nose pliers and gently pulled on it. It returned to its normal length and I plugged it up. It is now charging normally.
Jawbone should design a better charging system.
