My ctm hs 580 first flashed 5 then 8 times fault codes checked loom and electronics seemed ok. persists with 8 flash code motor fault tested motor ok. ??

CTM info on flashing 5 times is CHECK FREEWHEEL LEVER IS IN DRIVE,,check wiring .connections good luck

5 flash code indicates your brake. Check your free wheel lever and ensure it is in drive.

H i, is there a click from the rear of the scooter when you push the lever to go forward or backwards ??

first of all disconnect one battery, now located the controller and follow the leads to the motor and brake , disconnect look at the connectors and refit , using contact cleaner if possible, making sure they are a good fit,,,

couple of points,,

The wiring from the throttle lever to the controller may be damaged so the controller never see's the pot move (resistance change) as it were..


At worse the controller may have failed, i offer a free testing service,, you only pay the return postage..

hi, there is a fault finder at the back of the manual, 5 flashes means the drive motor is not coonected, check that the freewheel lever at the back of the scooter is in drive then turn off and on again with the key, hope this helps. Bill

2. Battery Voltage too over 32VDC hi or too low under 17VDC

4. Right Motor Fault

6. Right Brak Motor fault
7. Shark Control Module Faul
8. Power Module Faul
9.Shark Module Faul

The joystick will display a sequence of flash codes. Count them and find the count here: This could be several issues, But the flash code will tell you for sure.
