The power jack should have a little diagram that shows the ring and tip. The ring is the long sleeve on the plug, and the center would be the tip. The diagram should show the polarity. It's usually minus to the outer sleeve (ring), and plus to the tip. It might be on the adapter spec plate also. How to tell polarity expected of DC barrel jack
The circuit board should indicate the polarity (plus and ground).

I have Zoom G1XN ext. My guitar effect just lit "Gn" and can't change to Bank memmory. I need the circuit diagram and service code for Zoom G1XN ext whom can help and send to my email [email protected]

Have you tried to reset the unit? You can do this by holding save button for few seconds while connecting your adaptor to g1x/g1xn. Then the indicator will blink, then push save button again, this will reset your unit into its factory settings

Is the unit old?? Is it stored in an environment that has temperature fluctuations?? It could be the terminals on the input of the unit have dry jointed. This is when the solder lifts away from the circuit board. I have had the same problem on my ZOOM MRS1608 recording desk. Resolder the connections on the input. The base plate will problably remove easy enough to get to the point where the adapter is soldered onto the circuit board.

Good luck

G1x zoom guitar effects no power even using an adaptor

if you're using an adaptor other than the original zoom, make sure it's 300mA or more and try switching the polarity.

The zoom g1x is dead. no power. tried adapter from my other zoom pedal but nothing. opened it up and everything seems in tact. was working fine saturday, dead sunday. only one month old.

The first thing i would check is the ac adapter .Make sure you are getting the correct voltage from the adapter. If you know how to use a voltmeter or know someone that has a volt meter, check it with it unplugged from the guitar pedal, most of these have a voltage range from 9 to 12 volts dc.you could also take it to your local radio shack or local repair shop and they will be glad to check it for you for free.after you confirm the adapter and it is ok then the next thing you will check is the input jack assy on the pedal, input jack assy are soldered onto the board at the factory, these jacks ,no matter what it is are famous for cracked solder joints where the pins of the jack go into the board because of stress delivered to it during plug ins and plug outs.if you dont know how to use a sldering gun or dont want to you will have to take it it to your local repair shop-cost should be around 15.00, 20.00 tops, make sure that your guitar cables are good, check the 9volt battery inside the unit if it takes one,if its dead that could be your problem,if all above fails i would send it back to the factory or wherever you bought it.,good luck been playing for about 30 years myself, rock on

Hi.why my zoom g1x has no power.im using a universal adator...i am in phillpines.power volts here..220 volts.how is the setting of my adaptor then?

I have a ZOOM GX1XN and it doesn't like universal adapters much. Using one with the wrong voltage or polarity may permanently damage your pedal. Try to obtain a proper ZOOM AC adapter (part number AD-0006 or AD-16) if possible. These are dual voltage and will work equally well with both 220 and 110 volts. Failing that you need an adapter that will give a DC (direct current) output of 9 volts at 0.5amps - maximum 4.5 watts. The outer contact (sleeve) of the adapter needs to be positive (+ve) and the inside contact negative (-ve). Lots of universal adapters are the other way around with the sleeve being negative - but some have a multi-connector on the end with both positive and negative sleeves.
