Lisa, you may have to contact the store where you bought it or contact GE. I looked all through the manual a couple time and nothing found on Demo mode. Check the attached links to contact GE for info., last link is USA. Good luck

compressors use a small start / run capacitor to start the compressor
modern fridges do not like spikes from power outages and many power boards and electronic components fail because of this and I am inclined top use a surge protector before the fridge cord plug
I went google and typed in --fault code 88-88 for samsung fridge model rf26aewp and the first site up is error codes /messages/ blinking
the site is support-us.samsung>popup>iframe
there is a detailed answer there with a list of fault codes as well and what they indicate
there are other sites that also refer to the fault that you have
A few possible resets: press and hold the Set and + keys for 5+ seconds. On some models, that will get the freezer out of demo mode. On other models, it's the Set and Down arrow. For a few models, it's the Options and Up arrow. In all cases, it's press and hold both buttons until the unit responds.
I hope you will add a comment with the model of your freezer so that I can determine which set of instructions will work for your unit.
Hello friend, that's a great question!
In order to put your Frigidaire refrigerator FGHB2866PF into demo mode you would need to push and hold the "up arrow" on your freezer and the "down arrow" on your refrigerator for five seconds. Once your appliance has went into demo mode both the refrigerator and freezer display should read 77. Hope this information helps. -Matt
It sounds like you have one of two issues there. Maybe you need to turn it off and wait for 10 minutes for it to reset (compressor has "vapor-locked" and the freon is not able to circulate through the compressor). The other option to try is that the refrigerator has entered into "demo" mode. This is the mode that it is usually put into in stores so that the compressor is not running, but all other things work for demonstration on a showroom floor. A voltage spike might have shocked it into the demo mode and will work in all ways except for a blinking light indicating the demo mode as well as no compressor activity to cool anything... Look in your operator manual to see if they mention the demo mode and how to enter and exit it.
Hope that helps.. I have seen both of these situations though.
Not sure if its the same for all Kenmore freezer models but this may indicate it is in demo mode. To remove this press the up or down arrow three times as fast as possible (within 2 seconds). This will start the compressor, I hope this helps.
Hi,
hope the following helps you, I had a similar problem with my RSH1 and it took me a few hours searching online before I found the following. "Hi, I have it on good authority that this is the system check for Samsungs (RS21, SRS20, etc) during normal operation, is to hold the top two buttons down, just until display flashes - this will reset the electronics. Secondly, if the top two buttons are held down for longer (8 seconds) the display goes blank and will show any error messages in the form of DASHES I have experimented with unplugging air or frost probes - and the error code you get -on a blank screen is different parts of the last digit lighting up. Example: when i disconnect the fridge air-probe, shut both doors, hold down top buttons around display - The SIDE of the last "8" digit lights up ! ...strange but true. But, I need to know what it means when the BOTTOM of the "8" digit lights up"
I am still trying to find a list of the error codes the lines refer to but so far my unit is working fine.
Angus
Is your circulating fan working?
Sometimes they stick and need a shot of WD 40 and then work
it back and forth a little until it wants to take off again. Keep me informed
and PLEASE give a Thumbs Up for the effort. The Raz Shack
