In addition to the clarification posted by egraber (above), try this....Use the least amount of detergent that you can stand. We usually equate more with better, but not so in this case. The detergent is a bit abrasive, and, over a period of time, will leave scratches and deposits on your dishes, flatware and glasses. If you load the cup like egraber recommends, place detergent in the dispenser.
