Have Cooper lighting outdoor motion detected flood

Have a Cooper Lighting outdoor motion activated flood light that has quit lighting up, but I can hear a clicking noise when I get near the motion detector. I have checked the bulb and it doesn't look dark or the wires disconnected. I have pulled out the battery and put it back in. Left it off for 4 days then turned it back on with the same symptons. I bought a new bulb but haven't installed it because the bulb looks fine. Wondering if I need a new battery. The clicking noise makes me think the motion sensing is working because it is trying to do something.

Sounds like the relay in motion sensor. Change the bulb. Rechargeable batteries are no good after 3-4 years also.

I have a 180 degree Defiant Outdoor Motion Security Light. It was working fine for 2 weeks, but now it stays on all the time. I've tried toggling it to Test and then back to 1 Minute and no change.

I am having the same problem. The manual says to avoid plugging into the same circuit as motors & fluorescent lights. Mine is on the same circuit as a freezer. I'm going to try changing the AC outlet to see if that helps. Good luck!

Sounds like the batteries are not getting charged. Check to see if there was some packing material in place to keep the batteries disconnected for shipping.

I have outdoor security lights that run on a timer. Are there some that use a motion detector?

Yes, in fact most people have motion-detector activated lighting so they can know if there is suspicious activity outside of their home. Many security companies also offer systems that allow you to operate the lighting at your home from a smartphone or personal computer, which can help save electricity when it comes to outdoor lighting.

Motion sensor outdoor light won't go off

How long has this been going on? Has this light fixture been updated recently? Has the lite switch been changed that operates this fixture?

Motion light stays on

If there is a "sensitivity" setting, it appears to be sett too sensitive, therefore the unit thinks there is constant motion.
