Lynne there may not be a full sheet of paper jammed, but a small piece could e under the sensor. get a can of compressed air and blow out the entire paper path.
good luck!
Thank you. You were right on with your answer. Problem is it's stuck in the output spot and it's hard to get to. Can't thank you enough.
Have an hp laserjet pro 200 m276nw While the messages here are old, the problems continue. My message indicated there was a problem with a jam in Tray 1 (there is ONLY a single tray). I looked inside and there was no paper jammed anywhere. I had also just replaced the paper prior to seeing the error message.
Because I had a tough time finding my answer, I'm posting it here. I found my answer via a brief YouTube with no words, but the person showed how fiddling with all the levers and sliders on the paper tray could fix the problem. Simplistic, but it worked for me. I reloaded the paper and printed a couple of times and no more problem.

According to the manual: "A 13.01.00 error message indicates that the media did not arrive at the pre-feed sensor (PS102) within the specified time." That usually means that the rollers fail to pickup the paper from Tray 2. Usually, cleaning the paper feed roller in the 500 sheet tray should fix this. While blowing out dust, you may have coated this roller with paper dust. A quick way to double check this is to power cycle the printer & try to print from Tray 1, the MP feeder tray (unless Tray1 has rarely or never been used...it might be a little tempermental as well). Regardless, this error is very common & is usually fixed by cleaning. Depending on usage, this roller is considered a customer replacable item (Part # RM1-0037-000CN) with a life expectancy of more than 200,000 pages. There are 3 of that type roller in the printer, but the one in the tray is usually the 1st one to fail. Hope this helps!

Open tray 1 and pull any visible jammed media out of the all-in-one.
If no media is visible, open the print-cartridge door, remove the print cartridge, and rotate the
upper media guide. Carefully pull the media up and out of the all-in-one.
Close tray 1.

The paper is probably jammed between the fuser and the rear cover if you can't see it.

I had the same problem. I called HP and went through the steps they had asked me to go through to fix it. It took about an hour. Nothing worked. They offered me a replacement. I said no, and they offered me a $150 gift card for Staples.
