Mobile Icon stays on but no messages.

Voicemail icon's permanently on. Tried leaving message then deleting it, to clear, but icon still there. Put Sim in another phone, did the same and it cleared. Great. BUT back in my phone, got a voicemail msg, deleted it and the bloomin' icon's still there even though mailbox is empty. It's annoying having to check all the time for new messages as I don't know if there is one or not. Don't want to have to buy a new phone. Virgin haven't been able to come up with a solution. I know this is not an unusual problem. What solution as anybody found?

SOURCE: voicemail icon won't go away.

I've had the same problem as well. I made sure no messages were there, then called and left myself a message from another phone. I went in and listened to the message and waited till the option to delete came on and for the indication there were no more messages. Icon was gone.

Cannot clear voice mail display even though there is no voice mail msg tried function/exit and holding down "clear" it won't clear

This should be an easy one to solve. What you need to do is to call and leave yourself a voicemail message. Then call back, listen to your message and then delete the message you left. After that, you should have cleared the icon.

Also, in the future, when calling your voicemail to get your messages, do not hang up after you have listened to the messages. You should stay on the line until the voicemail icon disappears, then you can hang up.

This is a relatively common issue but you should be fine after this.

good luck!!

Voicemail icon will not go away after i delete my voicemail how can i get that to go away?

This happens to me A LOT. It seems to help to delete voicemail messages when I have more than 3 signal bars. To get rid of the Icon you have to leave a voicemail on your phone, use someone elses phone and just leave a message, it should vibrate like it has a new voicemail but the count shouldn't go up, then just delete the message when you have close to full bars.
Goodluck!

How do I get the new voicemail icon off the top of my screen after I deleted the message?

Your provider can remove the voicemail icon on you screen but you have to contact them of course. Sometimes what happens is the voicemail is exited improperly and this then will keep the icon on the screen. What you'll need to do it get back into your voicemail and follow the prompts to exit the system (I believe it is the star button to exit voicemail). What I would do is leave yourself a message, call into your voicemail, delete the message and exit the system. If icon is still on the screen then you have no choice but to contact provider. Good luck and hope this helped.

Voice mail icon

highlight the message in your inbox and press menu. You should have the option to unlock. Select that. tHen you should be able to delete them.
As far as your voicemail...
Call and leave yourself a message and then delete it. This will cause the voicemail system to send a message to your phone to remove the icon.

Motorola Razr Cell phone

This is a common problem, most often fixed by calling your voicemail from another phone and checking the messages. Call your mobile, press * when the voicemail answers, and then enter your pin code. If you don't have any voicemails, leave one first, then call back from the outside line and clear them out.
