Safety/neutral switch will cause that,

Nicely done Michael,
That's pretty much all the trouble shooting... $18 to $25 part.
You could look up your electrical schematic and verify your
analysis (that the neutral and "park" safely switch are the same)... "TRANSMISSION RANGE SWITCH" on YOUR schematic... although I SERIOUSLY doubt anyone would call it anything but a "NEUTRAL Safety switch"... I'm just saying.
I highly recommend that any car you want to keep... you should buy the factory "WORKSHOP" manuals...
Because I tend to keep all my cars... and view most
dealer mechanics as a cut above the SAMSONITE
Gorilla... (I know... being tough on gorillas)...
My personal average is they break two things for every ONE thing actually fixed.... (notwithstanding their hideous prices).
Barring the jarring outlay of cash for your own books... FREE circuit drawings (and Technical Service Bulletins) are available
BBB Industries... (registration required).
I also attached some bizarre videos about "fixing"...
(always great fun) but if you RELY on your transportation... you might want to get the part before EXPERIMENTING with your MOBILITY... Then if you succeed... you will have a good SPARE.
DO REMEMBER...
DISCONNECT THE BATTERY... Because its really hard driving the car while standing on your head... under the dash with your shoulder pressing on the gas peddle
(voice of experience)...
Hope this helps.
