Why does my Samsung Smart TV lose it's picture and started blinking and making a switching sound when I try to change channels?

The TV started switching itself off and then blinking on and off with the Smart TV logo showing. The remote signal red pilot lights at the right hand bottom of the TV also blink and when I try to use the remote to switch the TV off there is no response. I have tried turning the TV off at the wall and removing the plug from the electric socket. This seemed to help initially, but the problem has gradually worsened over the last 2 days. The TV is approximately 2 years old. There have been no problems until now.

My shop had this problem yesterday. We had to change the DMD to correct it. One of the data lines was being drawn down intermitently. This doesn't eliminate the digital PCB, but, we have seen the DMD do this more than a digital. You should have an authorized shop do the repair. Contact Samsung at 1-800-SAMSUNG or contact by email: http://samsung.com/ContactUs/ContactUs.htm Hope this helps.

Do you get any indication of power to the unit? Mine didn't.. the light next to the power button didn't come on. Turned out it was just a fuse inside the unit. So, take it in for repair and hopefully its a simple fix.

What do you think is wrong with my television, it has sound but no picture. How can I fix the problem?

Hi there
I would go to menu on the remote , from there to picture go down the list, if you do not find anything there to help you. Go to Support and to the E manual .

TV repair....I have a Samsung plasma. No Picture but it has sound. I'm trying to find out the exact cause of the problem so I can fix it.

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

Ballast or Lamp?

Its not the lamp or the ballast board. In either case, you would lose picture (going blank or black) and sound would soon follow then the LEDs in front would blink if at all.

Odds are its either the DMD board or the digital board.
