Boston Acoustics Solo volume knob stopped working altogether. Turning it either way does nothing, no volume number appears. Soft reset doesn't fix it. Any thoughts?

After unplugging it and moving it to another room, the volume (centre) knob on my Boston Acoustics Solo stopped working altogether. While the radio turns on and works, it is stuck on a high volume, and turning the knob either way does nothing, no volume number appears and no change in volume happens. Soft reset doesn't fix it. Any thoughts?

Why should it be normal for a radio to lose it's volume/power control? Any solution to this?

I don't know if you will see this or not, your post was 2 years ago. I have the same problem. My volume is stuck at 24. I have tried soft-reset........among other things. One thread says to turn volume down to 00 then press for 10 seconds. I have no control over the volume, so, yeah, thanks for that fix. I found that I could get the volume down by unplugging it,plugging it back in and sometimes the volume would pop up and I could turn it down one notch. I did it till I got to 00.............thought AHA! My problem is solved! No such luck. When I press the volume at 00 and try to hold it for 10 seconds, after 3-5 seconds it just pops back to the station frequency. I also thought that if I could get into the guts and spray the volume control with tuner-cleaner, it might help. No go.......after taking off the cover, I found a bunch of REALLY delicate looking electrical tapes and wires..........I was scared I would destroy something in an attempt to reach the volume control. I hate to trash this radio, the sound is awesome...............great design on the speaker, NASTY design on the controls. I'd be VERY interested to know if anyone, anywhere, has found a fix for this. I think maybe my next step will be hitting it with a hammer.

Radio no longer has any volume: Resets suggested dont work. How to pull this sucker apart?

It sounds like your radio has had its hospitality mode activated. The hospitality mode is a mode which is often used by hotels or similar establishments, who wish to set a maximum volume limit on the radio. To remove this volume limiter follow the steps below.
Turn the unit on
Turn the volume down to minimum, 00, volume
Press and hold power for 10 seconds until volume numbers flash
Turn the volume back up to 50 (max volume)
Press power again to verify new max volume position

Tuner doesn't work

Turn the main (volume) knob all the way until volume reads 00, leave the button (volume) pressed until the radio beeps - be patient it takes a while - after this turn the knob all the way or until you reach an acceptable volume limit, push the knob again until beep then turn radio off.

Volume won't go past 30

Turn on. Set volume to 00. Press & hold the volume knob for about 10 sec., until you hear a beep. Then turn volume up to the maximum that you would ever want, and then press the volume button again. It is now set.
