The (X) in the model number stands for extra large (2.7cu ft) capacity. The 1 stands for single speed. The 6 stands for 6 cycles. It should have a white plastic clothes basket. More expensive models had a stainless basket. Hope this helps you.
Size varies between manufactures, the biggest I have seen is the GE which is 3.5 cu ft, base your machine on your standard size load, ours is about 8lbs however I dont overload, I take large items quilts, comforters etc to a laundromat, its not worth breaking my machine over a comforter wash for $3.50 American.
