Sounds like relay on compressor is bad or worse the compressor is bad. Return it

The issue a floating ground that causes the hum you are talking about. What are you connecting it to that causes the hum?

You have to check the RCA cable to the sub woofer. The RCA cabe have two connections inside it, one is for gain and the other is for ground sheild. If the ground sheild is broken then there will be hum from the sub woofer and it will increase if you touch the ground (rear metal pannel is connected to the ground). Replace the cable and check it again.

I just sent amp from same unit to velodyne for repair at $275

i had the same problem once and in my case i had accidentally used ground wire for signal. pls check ur connections again. one check u can do is set the high pass filter to 70Hz and see if that cuts out the low hum.

Velodyne is the only source for parts and service on this unit.

sounds like the solder on the connections has either dried and cracked or come loosse if the wrigling of cables works its the connections if you unpluig and remove the back panel look where the cable connect check the condition of the wiring at source point of contact you may need to resolder or reconnect..

Sounds like a dead amp. You could check the xformer output and the amp IC's with a VOM.

These amps do not cost a lot, about $40.00. and are easy to replace.
