Try this:
Turn off the auto density
Go to manual density and adjust to the middle 50%
Try to run again and check your results
If none - you have to clean all the optics
Try again - if you don't get results there is a possible problem with the lamp/scanner system which usually requires someone making adjustments to one of the control boards.
Which brings you to contacting Ricoh for support - they are usually pretty good helping over the phone.
