Error 5040 in canon maxify 2340

Canon pixma maxify mb2340, when turning on the machine immediately giving display support code 5040. can i have some hints about this error code?

Unfortunately, there is no solution to a 5040 error. Your printer will require service or replacement.

Temporary solution to fix error code:

  1. Turn the printer OFF and unplug the power cord.
  2. Wait five seconds, then plug the printer back in.
  3. Turn the printer back ON

The Canon will give this error when something is broken error 5040 means that the motor wires running to the ADF automatic document feeder are broken. The same error pops up on the Canon MB2140 maxify. I took the printer apart by removing the side covers then disconnecting the ADF ribbons and wires. then I removed the top back cover on the ADF where the wires go in and found the broken wires, soldered them together and covered with heat shrink. assembled and tested working. No more error

I hope this is helpful for all printer guys

How do i install canon pixma mx320 series printer?
hello,

Remove all the printer settings, and swich off the printer.And restart your system. install the drivers with MX 320 CD. Once it ask you to switch on your printer, please switch on then the printer it automatically it will detect and it will finish this.This is the normal installation procedure .

What is support code 5040
this is a non repairable code. all you can do is try to clear it by removing power from the wall wait almost a minute and plug back in. if if clears fine but if not it needs service.

This error indicates a service problem with the printer. Sometimes recycling will fix, or the paper path may be jammed.
