DC12 made sounds as though it was being swiftly switched off and on several times, then switched off except for fans. No screen, so no error code. Cannot switch on beyond green "On" light. Repeatedly tried starting up after isolating machine and allowing time delay. No fans, just green "On" light. Consumables, waste containers, fused unit, etc., seem OK. Any ideas, please?
That suggests either the power supply or the control board is failing.
If my printer did that I'd call some local service agents and find one who will talk you through what might be wrong, what he can do about it and how much that will cost...
If he won't talk you through that much, go elsewhere.
Thank you, Robbie. My GUESS is that the problem lies with what I would call the Mother Board. Xerox ceased supporting the machine a month ago (!) on the basis of a lack of parts so local agents are keeping me at arm's length. Don't want to give up on an excellent piece of kit, so I will keep pushing for assistance.
