Low fuel supply
check tap for internal corrosion/blockage
check filter at end of tap( in tank) for blockage
check hoses for internal failure

Replaced carb, spark plug, coil and new fuel pump and filter. Cranks better but when put under load rpm goes up and down. Tried running from new hose and small tank of fuel and does same thing. Any other ideas?

check the oil sensor circuit. I know when I take out or short out the sensor ckt on mine, it'll keep on running. low oil isn't good for any motor.

Measure voltage drop across the far ends of the fuse wiring (should measure zero), as one of the wires or it's connection to either end of the fuse may be open. Check the battery negative grounding connection at the frame. If all ok, you may need to find a wiring diagram for the machine. Does this unit have a low-oil-level switch which will kill the engine if set?

SOURCE: RPM/voltage fluctuation on Guardian Primepact 50G

The voltage regulator board on this unit is notorious for failing. If you are handy, you can replace it yourself with basic tools and a voltmeter to set the output. The part is about 200 dollars. Good luck

SOURCE: I have a generac 50G.

Hello,

This is the easiest way, get a hand held power drill and plug it into one of the 120 volt recepticals. Make sure all the cicut breakers are pushed in before you do this. OK here is the trick, with the generator running, pull the trigger on the drill and spin it hard BACKWARDS. You must keep the trigger pulled and DONT hangonto the chuck after you spin it......... It will just take off spinning. If it doesnt work at first do it again, if it does not work, make sure you are spinning it as fast as you can. If the drill motor does not just take off after three attemps, you might have a bad diode that needs to be replaced.

Hope this works, Let me know :)

Matt

Generac 14kw Lp mod 0055030 ser 5437842 Battery was dead. Replaced but has code RPM SENSE LOSS.

RPM Sensor Loss 1501
ALARM
This RPM alarm is set when a 2 cylinder unit was already running and stalled or lost the RPM signal from the ignition coils. Possible causes could be a fuel issue, the LP tank is empty, 1 or both ignition coils are damaged, or the unit was overloaded quick enough that the engine stalled and set the alarm.

Possibly a fuel flow issue.

Try running without load for awhile, if it faults with no load then either an ignition module or control board or fuel. If it only faults with significant load, then more likely a fuel flow or engine is stalling from sudden increase in load.

I have a Generac NP-50G Generator with a broken push rod

The push rod should just go back in where the broken one was. They set into the tappet almost automatically. You can slowly spin it over to verify. I'd replace both push rods if it where mine.

Generac Generator won't stay running

It sounds like you are not producing any voltage. When you start your generator have a volt meter on the generator breaker to see if there is voltage present when the genset is running. Also, check you oil pressure switch, which is near the oil filter.
