I have found (somewewhere on the web, sorry cant remember where) that it is only a power error ! So if you see the P.e the calculator doesnt received enough power... All you gotta do is to change the batteries!! Or plug it with the appropriated power cord :)
Enjoy!

There are wierd pixels on the screen that won't go away when i clear it or anything

The calculator may be too old and some hardware damage may have occurred. Old age, like everything else.

My HP35s keeps flashing MEMORY CLEAR. I removed the batteries and reset it with a paper clip. Nothing works.

I'm not sure if it is the only solution, but I had the same problem and I replaced the batteries. My HP35S works fine now.

Previously, however, there was no "battery" annuciator on the screen. This calculator went four years without a bettery change. My HP48GII, on the other hand won't go two months without a change. Go figure.

When I turn on the calculator, I get a screen full of random black pixels. The AAA's and the lithium batteries are both good. Nothing I do will change the screen, except turning the calculator off.

Try to reboot your calculator to see if it helps by doing this:
*Remove one of the AAA batteries. Press and hold the [CLEAR] key. While holding [CLEAR], reinsert the AAA battery and then turn the calculator on. The calculator should display the message "RAM Cleared". Release the [CLEAR] key and then press it one more time to remove the message. *
Let me know if it helps or not.

The screen is black when I turn it on. I've replaced the batteries and no change. I try to change the contrast and nothing happens. It is a couple years old, but I should still work.

Hi,
Check that the terminals in the battery compartment are clean and shiny. Remove any powder left after battery leakage. Insert fresh batteries in calculator. Make sure you respect the polarity diagram. +-+- (Many malfunctions come from incorrectly placed batteries).

To adjust the screen: Darken or lighten display

To darken screen
Press [2nd] key and release it.
Press and hold [UpArrow] until screen is dark enough.

To lighten screen
Press [2nd] key and release it.
Press and hold [DownArrow] until screen is light enough.

Hope it helps.

When I turn on my ti 83 plus, I only get a blinking bar on the top left. None of the buttons work, and it says RAM cleared. How do I fix?

Hello,

RAM cleared means that the machine removed all old values stored in variables. And it is wainting for you to start calculating.
Enter any operation
1[+]1 should give you 2.

If the keys do not answer when you press them and nothing shows on screen you the calculator may have to be repaired.

Hope it helps.

My TI-84 silver edition has frozen, It is stuck on the same screen and nothing appears when I hit buttons, it wont even turn off. When I remove the batteries and place them back in the same screen appears....

I had the same problem. I remove all four batteries and the battery backup that is underneath the little phillips screw in the battery compartment. I immediately replaced it and the other batteries and everything worked. FYI, others have called for keeping the batteries out for 8 hours.

Won't work at all

TI calculators have an annoying habit of dimming the screen when the batteries are changed so that it appears as if the calculator isn't turning on at all. Turn the calculator on (or at least press the ON key). Press and release the 2ND key. Press and hold the Up-arrow key for a few seconds and see whether the screen becomes legible.
