I have an android box and i have kodi installed onto it. i have been using the kodi app for months now, and all of a sudden it has stopped working

Go to you tube and search for ares wizard for the url to add the app and also get complete kodi setup wizard from google play store app to use for removing build and kodi file I believe is about aprox 125 meg. You also want the latest kodi of either 16.1 or 17.4 for more memory box. The kodi app will tell you if it is available to be used on the box you have. If 17.4 can be used on your box. If it says that you can not use it then you go with the 16.1 which is for boxes with only 1 gig of memory for program. There is many tutorials for most any kodi problem

What do you plan to do with your box? Streaming Apps? Kodi? Games? If you're going to run Kodi first thing you should do is go to the play store and update Kodi to the latest version. Then go to Kodiapps.com and read over the builds there and follow the instructions to load up one that you like, or you can just use addons. All the other streaming apps are located in the store. Transferring a build over on a memory card then putting on an android box is technically possible but it would be very hard in making sure you get all the files correctly over and installed in the right paths.

The easiest way for you to install a build is to first install Kodi Kyrpton on your Android Box then once Kodi is installed, from within kodi install your build.

check the kodi settings. Kodi is just an app that runs on your android TV box so youll be dealing with 2 types of settings....setting within the box and the settings within kodi. I am thinking one of those sets of settings has the screensaver checked on
