SOURCE: line buttons showing wrong phone lines

When a phone has only 2 lines, it's not programmed. By default, a Nortel system has 2 lines and that's all. Go into system programming and assign the number of lines and intercoms to a phone. After that, you can copy the buttons from a working phone to the new phone and you're done.

SOURCE: Nortel M7310 Phone moved to another jack, now no incoming calls

The reason your phones config is not the same as before is because configuration goes by what extension it is. So if you plug your phone in somewhere else, unless you have DN's configured, your extension changes, so say it was extension 21, but now that you moved it, its now 23, those settings remain on extention 21, so if you bought another phone and plugged it into were extention 21 is, it would have the settings that your old phone had before

To access the intercom by just picking up the handset, Press Feature **CONFIG (266344), Select <A. Configuration>, then go to <2. Line Access>, Select that and enter the extension of the phone you want to have access intercom by just picking up the handset. Scroll until you see <Intercom Keys: #,> make sure you have at least one intercom key. Then scroll until you see <Prime Line: #>, Press change until the display reads <Prime Line:I/C>  And there you go. Hope i didn't confuse you

I CAN'T SEND FAX WITH EXTENSION NUMBER

Generally if you wanted to send a fax to a facsimile which is connected to an extension.you must dial only the direct line number and ask operator to transfer this call to fax (wanted extension). After you heard the fax tone you can push start button.
If the fax machine full-time connected to same extension & dedicated direct-line there only for faxing,we can program the pbx for automatically transfer the incoming fax or call to that extension.so outsider have to dial only direct fax number without ext no.
Only Panasonic PBXes having a unique feature if i'm wright if it detect fax tone from any direct line it will automatically transfers towards fax extension.

Hello.

From NorStar Support:

To Program Personal Speed Dial Numbers: (Numbers 71 - 94 only.
1. Press the Feature button, then * 4
2. Enter the 2 digit code (71 - 94). that you want to assign to that phone number
3. Enter the telephone number, then press the OK softkey

If the above doesn't work, try:

How to recieve a fax on the Canon PIXMA MX340 Wireless Office All-in-One Printer

Take your incoming phone line and plug it into the place that says "line" on your fax machine. Plug another phone cord into where it says "phone" and connect this to your telephone. Test to make sure you have chosen the right places by dialing a phone number to fax to and listen for the dial tone. If you get a dial tone, then you have set it up correctly.

On the fax machine look for the button that says "menu". Push it and use the up and down arrows to navigate the options on the display. Look for fax set up and press "ok" or "enter" on the fax machines keyboard to access this area. Look for "number of rings" and change the fax machine to a number of rings that is less then your voice mail box if you have one. Then close and save your choices.

Have someone send a test fax by dialing your phone number for the line connected to the machine. The fax machine will pick up on the number of rings set and automatically begin receiving and printing a copy of your incoming fax.

You cannot use magic jack.

You can also choose to manually answer an incoming fax if you see that your display on the fax machine says "ringing" or incoming" you can push the "start" button and this will start receiving your incoming fax.

I have a panasonic hybrid phone system and would like to connect a fax machine, when I connect the fax to the jack, I dont get a dialtone but it goes to the intecom line. The same happens if I connect a...

Hello, you can solve this one of two ways. Try pushing a 9 when you get intercom line, you should get an outside line. So when you want to send a fax, just remember to push a 9, get outside dial tone then dial your number. Or, the second option would be to program that extension jack to auto select a line when going off hook. That will take a manual and some additional guidance. Okay, so thats for making outgoing calls. When it comes to incoming calls, you need to find out what extension the fax is connected to. You can do this by dialing another extension that has a display from the fax machine and see what intercom number comes up on the phones display. So once you know the extension number you can do one of two things. You can leave the fax off since it will most likely ring when any call comes in your office, and only turn it on when receiving a fax. When you answer the fax call on one of your other phones, and hear the beep beep beep, merely push transfer and dial the fax machines extension. That will transfer the incoming fax call to that extension and the fax machine provided you have it turned on. The other option is to break out the system manual(not user guide), and program the fax machines extension to only ring on the line you want it to, say your last line and leave the fax machine on and give out that specific number for faxes. But you do run the risk of your call traffic being heavy, incoming calls rolling over to that line or someone calling that number directly and getting the fax. I think I covered everything I can with the limited information on your application, so I hope that solved your problem.

I want to push the line button to answer the phone, not just pick up the handset. I have vodavi StarPlus TR 9015

Now that's an oldie but a goodie :-)

Line Preference Incoming (called PREF LINE ANSWER in Vodavi) requires system programming from a 24 button set. It's a sequence of FLASH 50 (your extension twice) and hold, then press Flex key 8 and dial 0 HOLD.

Of course you have to know how to get into system programming and try not to do anything destructive.

Wiring a dayton timer relay

If i understand you correctly you want to push the button, release it and have the timer give power to the solenoid for 3 more seconds, correct? If this is the case you will need an off delay timer. On delay timers work like this. You push the button, power goes through the timer, at this point the timer starts counting, when the timer reaches its preset point,(3 seconds we'll say) the contacts change till the power to the timer goes off.

If you hook this up with an on-delay timer this is what will happen:
Push the button and release, the timer will tick as long as you hold the button down, till three seconds, then the solenoid will raise until you release the button.

With an off delay this will happen: push button , solenoid begins working, when button is released timer counts 3 seconds while solenoid is still working, then removes power to the solenoid.

The way you would wire the off-delay is like this:
Connect line side of your pushbutton(incoming power side),incoming power and terminal 1 on your base together. next connect the load side (outgoing power side) of your pushbutton and terminal 2 on your base together. Connect terminal 3 to the hot wire or terminal on your solenoid. Lastly connect terminal 7 the incoming neutral wire and the neutral wire or terminal of the solenoid together.

I am telling you how to wire it in my head, if you'll write back with some specifics such as what wire you will use, where your getting power from, what the solenoid current draw is and such i can get a little more detailed. maybe it will make more sense.

Also make sure the timer and pushbutton are rated to handle the solenoids running current. The timer appears to handle 10 amps im not sure what you pushbutton can handle. Also keep in mind the solenoid will operate for whatever time u set it to, after the button is released. There are other ways to do it but this would be the most economical way.

And of course turn the breaker off and test that it is off before working on the circuit. Write back with any problems.
