SOURCE: Washing Machine stopped through cycle and now will not turn on

Unplug!!! NOW! I drained the water using a common garden hose, fill the hose with water and have some device turning it off like a trigger nozzle on the low end. Detach from the supply and put the supply end in the center of the tub under the softener dispenser. take the trigger nozzle off and watch the water drain without cups and buckets. Then wring out the clothes and put them aside, use the hose trick again for remaining water. Now get under the washer and detach and reattach the brown and white lead input to the rinse cycle motor. She is made in France so be gentle. Plug the machine in and set the machine down and turn it on. Push the >> button until you reach the spin cycle if it starts you have fixed it!! Put the clothes back in open a bottle of wine and try again.

SOURCE: Washing machine stops in rinse cycle.

Okay...I asked you a question in your other posting before I saw this one. This is a common symptom of a defective lid switch. If you try opening and closing the lid and do not hear a distinctive "clicking" sound, your lid switch may need to be replaced. Some lid switches are located on the right-hand side of the lid opening with a small slot. It is activated by a plunger on the lid itself. Make sure the plunger is not broken off. This will also keep the switch from not working. On some model washers the lid switch is located on the left-hand side, in the rear, mounted under the casing near the lid hinge. It is activated by a rod on the lid. Sometimes the rod can be adjusted if it is not making good contact with the switch. In either case, if the switch is not activated, it will allow the washer to fill and agitate, but will not start the rinse or drain cycles. If you wish to attempt the repair yourself, the switch costs about $35 and is fairly simple to replace if you follow the steps below:

First of all, unplug your washer. You will need to remove the console in order to get to the lid switch. I believe your washer has release tabs under the console at each front corner. Simply slide a putty knife straight in from the front at each corner and push in while lifting up. You should feel the release tabs push in and the console will pop up. Or, you may have a console that has removable end caps. They can be removed by gently prying up on the top of them from the rear on each side. You may have to use a small screwdriver for this. The caps should pop right off. Once removed, you will need to loosen a screw under each cap. Once you have the console loosened, carefully lift it up and lay it back over the rear panel of the washer in its resting position. Be careful not to damage the small plastic hinges that hold it in place. Now you will need to perform the following steps:

1. Under the console you will find the lid switch connector. Unplug the switch from the connector.

2. There will be two brass colored clips. You will need to remove these to remove the machine casing. Place a flat blade screwdriver straight down into the opening on top of the washer and into the groove of the clip. Push the screwdriver away from you while holding into the groove and the clip will release.

3. Open the lid of the washer and place your hand under the front rim of the opening (DO NOT grab the wash tub). Now pull the case from the frame by lifting from the back first.

You do not have to remove it all the way from the frame. Just enough to gain access to the switch. All there is to the switch is a couple of screws holding it in and a ground wire. It's a pretty easy repair job.

Once you've completed your switch installation, make sure you get the case back on the frame correctly by following these steps:

1. While looking down through the lid opening, place the front lip of the machine case UNDER the washer frame and start leaning it back onto the frame. There are four small cleats that must fit into four slots on the case or the washer will vibrate. Make sure the frame is seated properly, lean forward from the front of the washer, grasp both sides of the rear panel and pull towards the case. The rear panel should be seated and flush with the casing before inserting the retaining clips.

2. Insert the brass-colored clips into the slot on the washer rear panel first, then push straight down into the opening on the top of the washer with some force. If you have the case seated correctly, the clips will snap back in.

3. Make sure you plug the connector from the console back into the lid switch receptacle and close the console.

I hope you find this helpful. If you have any questions please let me know by posting comments.

SOURCE: Leaves white marks on coloured clothes

I'd try putting the machine on a hot fill wash, max water level put in half a cup of baking soda when the machine starts to washer turn it off and leave it to soak overnight, then let it finish the cycle the next day. Also make sure you tip some of the hot water down the beach dispenser and clean all around the top of the machine

SOURCE: I have Model WF-S6607?WF-S6607TC. Washing Machine.

This might be Lid cover open protection. There is a small magnet at the edge of the lid cover, housed in some sort of a catch.
If the plastic housing cracked, the magnet might have dropped into the washing drum. To overcome this, place a magnet on the position where the plastic catch will contact the washer when the lid is close.

LG Tromm Steam Washer Cycle is complete and the stuff is so wet that they have to wrung by hand to even put they on a clothes line. Can washer be put on spin only? How?

call a technician as it indicates that the cycle from rinse, spin is not progressing to spin only
rinse, spin is a low speed spin to facilitate the rinse and to balance out the clothes ready for the fast speed spin cycle

We have an Ultima washing machine and creases the cloths very badly any suggestions please

The amount of creasing you will get is directly related to the speed you select for the final spin dry cycle and the spin after the first wash cycle which occurs prior to the rinse cycle. The higher the speed and the longer it goes for the more the clothes will crease.

Experiment with different spin speeds on your machine for clothing that is subject to the creasing problem. Also do not put too many items in the machine for a wash as many people do as this will contribute to creasing. Always under load your machine for every wash cycle.

Spin drying is a compromise between creasing and maximum water removal. If you want less creasing you will need to select a more gentle spin dry speed but you will also have the clothes coming out of the machine with a higher water content and they will take a bit longer to dry. The spin time on the program may also be shorter.

In my own machines I use a gentle wash and spin cycle for all clothing that I don't want heavily creased. Running it on a wash cycle with a high and longer spin speed when the machine is spinning the clothes after the initial wash, and then again after the final rinse, will thoroughly crease the clothes every time.

Also bear in mind that different fabrics that are suitable for machine washing will perform differently and some are just too subject to creasing even if you use the most gentle wash, rinse and spin cycle. Hence you can take 2 different 100% cotton fabrics out of a machine and hang them to dry and one will be almost crease free and the other will be thoroughly creased. With these fabrics that are just very subject to wash creasing, it is better to hand wash and rinse them. Then after rinsing drip dry them or put them in the machine and spin them for 1 -2 minutes maximum just to get some of the water out and hang dry them.

Model 9156200 top loading washing machine

the lid switch may be loose or broken it happens to me it was washing but never rinse i found out that it was a loose switch this switch prevents the rinse cycle from working with the lid open because of the high speed rinse ,some machines dont work at all, a loose switch makes the machine think the lid is open even if it is closed.good luck.

We have an Aquasmart top loader and our clothes, mainly dark items, are being covered by a scum after washing. We have put the machine through the clean cycle, but this has not made any difference.

I have found with my aquasmart that if you use the 'high efficiency' the water does not cover the clothes sufficiently which is why the soap residue (noticeable more on dark clothes) is visible. I don't use high efficiency. even on conventional sometimes I still have to check that the water level is high enough. Also **use only liquid, low sudsing detergent and do not put it on the clothes-use the dispenser only. As for my machine... Time for the repair man to check the sensing I think
