Make sure sim card is seated properly

remove sim card and gently clean gold contacts with a pencil eraser or qtip dipped in alcohol..let dry be for re inserting

contact service provider and have a new sim card sent to you

No service

I assume you've swapped the SIM card over to the new phone (it's the SIM card that holds the number). If so, try powering the phone down, then back on again. Also, you will need to get the network settings from your operator to get data, MMS etc working properly.

Tried to restore my iphone 3G OS 3.1.2 in the itunes. after the restoration process was complete the following message appeared " the SIM card inserted in this iphone does not appear to be supported" "only...

do as it says you need a valid SIM to restore an iphone and it is possible to have a SIM go bad. There is nothing that can be done until your sim is infact working and valid and it MUST be an AT&T sim no other sim will work for restore.

Try replacing you sim and if you still get the same error then it is a device issue. You will need to contact your service provider for replacement options!
