You can download a program called WinXP Manager. you can do a number of tweaks including changing your product key.
However it is not free, but you can download the free trial version.

You will need to update windows to service pack3 first. Then once completed click "start" and open "control panel" and then "Add Remove programs-software" Scroll through list of installed software and identify all and only the office related components "select" each component individually then click "remove/uninstall" Remove all previous installed office components, starting with the smallest sized file to the largest, once completed restart your machine and try the office install disk again. Microsoft has stated they have discontinued sales of Windows XP as of July 1, 2008. You may be able to get one from a computer store if they still stock them.

the black screen at windows startup implies that u have a probleme with ur software package(service pack 2)

so get a fresh copy of the softwares u have mentioned
then 1st install windows serice pack 2 from the bootable disk
after that when windows starts install ms office professional.
