SOURCE: have a john deere sabre

Some mowers have a mowing reverse safety switch. That safety will kill the mower if you try to reverse with the deck engaged. Some mowers even have an override button that has to be held while backing up. As for the battery thing, no matter how much you charge a bad battery you will not get it to start a mower if it has a bad cell or two. I would use a multimeter to check battery voltage, but the end result would still be the same, replace the battery.

I hope this gets you going again.

SOURCE: John deere Z225 riding mower

measure with a valt meter and see what your voltage is at the battery . now measure what you have for volts at the soleoid. then check to see if you are getting 12 volts to the single peg on your soleoid, usually a whitwe wire. If your not getting voltage to this wire you probably have a safety switch problem. If you are getting voltage here check to make sure you are getting voltage at the starter motor. If your getting voltage there you may have a bad ground at the starter motor or the whole motor may need to be grounded to the frame.

My john deere 2025r ran rough, then turned it off. Now it won't start. Cranks over fine, acts like it wants to start, but won't fire. Cleaned fuel filter, fuel lines, bled fuel lines. Pumped fuel through...

Did you bleed injectors? Pump primer pump up till you pressure, wait pumping crack a injector nut till you solid fuel. Than close. Go to next one, do the same thing.

My uncle has a john deere 111 and my dad turned it on and off apparently trying to get the key out and it hasn't worked since. What should my uncle do?

Is this the old JD 111 made from 1979-1986? I would guess that it was left out in the weather over the years and that is why the key was stuck. Check the ignition switch and the starting solinoid. That is where I would start. Let me know if that is it. If it still does not work, then there are other routes to go. I have a JD 111 from 1980 that was recently left to me. I tuned it up last year and it still runs good. That is a testament to the old JD's.

John deere 425 lawn tractor. it wont start but it has spark and fuel the starter engages and the fly wheel turns

If your tractor has an anti back fire solenoid in the front of the carburetor then it should start if you remove it and cap it off with a pipe plug.It should run if the solenoid is the problem,if so you really should replace it but if it is'nt prone to backfiring with it remove you don't have to.You may also have a bad seat switch, confirm this by jumping the plug with a piece of wire to temporarily test it.
