Hi
It may be cheaper to just fit a replacement stereo unit.
I cant see why a stamped serial number would be damaged on a stereo....it dont touch anything...unless its been deliberatly damaged.
Fit a new stereo..very easy and prob a better sound quality.
Roger
Are there any visible scratches on the black discs? If so i would recommend getting them resurfaced at your local game store. If there is no damage to the disk then it is more likely than not down to the PS2 laser, as they get older they struggle to read more and more until they will only read perfect white disks or nothing at all. Give the laser a good clean with some solvent, being careful not to scratch it.
No matter what network your Nokia N95 phone currently runs on, you can unlock it---or "flash" it---to run on any GSM network. You will only be able to use your unlocked Nokia N95 phone on networks that use SIM cards---such as T-Mobile and AT&T---and not on CDMA networks such as Sprint and Verizon, which do not provide SIM cards.
Read more: How to Flash a Nokia N95 Unlocking the Handset 1 Remove the back cover and the battery from your cell phone. Locate a silver sticker with a bar code on it. Take note of the 15-digit IMEI number printed on it. At this time, also remove the SIM card and write down the numbers printed on the back of it. The SIM card is the small, white data chip in the silver cradle right next to the sticker. You will need these numbers to obtain your Nokia unlock code.
2 Request a Nokia N95 unlock code from your service provider. If they cannot provide you with an unlock code, you can buy one online.
3 Replace the SIM card, battery and cover. Fully charge your handset.
4 Turn on your handset and type "#PW+".
5 Enter the unlock code given from your phone company or website. Make sure you dial the number exactly as it was given to you. If you dial this number incorrectly three times, you will be permanently locked out of your handset.
6 Dial "+1#". At this point, the screen on your Nokia N95 should read "SIM Restriction Off."
Inserting SIM Card 1 Switch your handset off and remove the back cover and battery.
2 Remove the SIM card.
3 Insert the new SIM card into the SIM card slot. Now that the phone has been unlocked, this can be a SIM card from any U.S. service provider that uses SIM cards.
4 Replace the back cover and battery and switch the cell phone on. The screen should now read the name of the new service provider
If you call nintendo customer support at 1-800-255-3700 if you have the card handy it should have another number on the back that they will ask for to verify the purchase otherwise they may need info from the receipt of purchase to get you a new one or new number for the card. Good luck and happy gaming! William

Unfortunately, the shiny silver that is on the top of the cd is the part that actually holds the files stored on it. If that silver is gone, so are your files. The problem is, files span throughout a cd, so if you have a decent sized scratch, you could have damaged part of every file on it.
What it boils down to is this: If you cannot access the files on the cd, they are gone forever. Even if pieces of them remain, if it cant be accessed, it can't be saved.
