Some of the ae200 are a 3phase heavy duty mixer to use the machine look or call electrical warehouse distributors for an inverter and or notify a hobart distributor for instructional information on wiring the unit for 208-230

The one i bought is a 3 phase model. And i beleave it is possible to rewire it from 380v to 230volt?

  • john h Aug 13, 2016

yes but depending on what motor you have with the unit it may be rewired at the main input but some cant that why if you notify hobart they have their own techs who can assist you with the wiring setup and if you give them the info on motor they can usually assist you in the change over or advise what is needed to do so

You would need to replace the Alternator to obtain the lower operating voltage.

Can I rewire a Hobart VCM-25 Mixer/Cutter 460v to run on 220/240v?

There is likely a nameplate with a wiring diagram inside. Without being familiar with the specific model, I can't tell you where. If you can find it, it will show both 460 and 230 volt configurations. Regardless, you will find inside the wiring box (where the conduit comes into the mixer) there are four wires corresponding to two windings - for 460 volts, the windings are wired in series. For 230 volts, they should be wired in parallel.

Motor not spinning in hobart 60 qt mixer

Check manually after disconnecting the motor if this is jammed. If so the motor must be reset as the bearings are faulty and so the rotor seems to get stuck with the coil core.
Also if there is high drain with heat it is possible that the coils are faulty and might need an insulation failure test.

I need a wiring diagram for the Hobart H600 which has a multi tap motor on and i would like to change the voltage on the motor to 200volt single phase 120/208 or even 120208 3phase. The wiring diagram is...

You cannot wire a three phase motor for single phase and you cannot wire a single phase motor for three phase. If you have a three phase dual voltage motor your options are 220 or 440 volts. If you have a single phase dual voltage motor your options are 120 or 240 volts. A 208 volt Hobart motor will only function correctly on 208 volts and is not dual voltage.

Change Hobart N-50 110 V / 60 Hz to 230 V / 50 Hz

You would need to provide the correct power to match the maching, or replace the rotor, stator, controls to match the higher voltage, and worm gears to correct the speed, from 60 to 50 Hz. Unless you don't mind it running slower. Cheaper to find one that matches your local spec..

Speed reduction of Hobart A200 mixer

Hi Don. If your mixer is hurling honey, you must be very popular in the ant world...Sorry!

The Hobart electric motor on your mixer was designed and engineered to operate on 115-120 volt current and is the most dependable, and capable commercial mixer out there Is it possible for you to use a commercial Imerssion Blender for the first part of your mixing operation. Once your honey thickens a bit perhaps the a200 wouldn't hurl honey. Another consideration would be to either try a different beater or modify the one you have by removing surface area from the beater. If you remove metal, be sure to do it in a balanced fashion to avoid unwanted vibration in the beater. If you're not up to removing metal, take it to a machine shop and they'll do it for you. It probably won't take long, or cost much, and they have the expertise and the equipment to do it properly. If you found this solution helpful, please rate it. Good luck! ricardok45.
