Question about Vizio E500i-B1 50-Inch 1080p Smart LED HDTV

1 Answer

TV won't turn on, no sound or video is noticed when pressing the power button. The power light in the bottom left turns on and fades away after a couple seconds which is normal.

Occasionally the TV will display video for half a second then flashes off.

Yes, I had this problem last year and had searched the web. My Samsung had only a high voltage of 380 votes DC at the capacitor. Samsung has 3 boards, inputs (control), video and power boards which has 120 volts enter leading to a fuse, then a small high voltage transformer, with a capacitor - 100 uf rated at 450 volts. Found two capacitors - 150 uf and 220 uf rated at only 400 volts and connected them in parallel and measured the voltage showing 391 volts. The TV worked again. Good lucky
