Replace the thermostat
of course it will not stop if the air in the room is not controlled ( doors open , window open, room to big fore the ac unit or if the temp control is set too low ( 25 c is optimum setting)

Dometic AC B59516.711 15,000 BTU, while on generator power the AC works during day while it hot but once the sunsets and it cools down, compressor kicks on it drags the gen down and shuts it off.

something else besides the ac is stopping ( overloading) the genset
if it works well during the day, the compressor has to be working so the ac is not the problem
a 4000 watt gen set has a duty cycle load of around 3000 watts full time so any additional power requirement besides the ac will overload it
electric stoves , microwave ovens , hot water elements , anything that consumes power after dark will when combined with the ac will overload and shut down the gen-set

Can a Fujitsu compressor unit be connected to multiple inside evaporator units that have different tonnage ratings. 18,000 BTU compressor and 9,000 & 12,000 BTU evaporator units inside.

call fujitsu engineering division direct and ask them about what is connected and if it works ok
logically as each evaporator has it's own tx valve as long as the compressor is large enough to run all together it should work but get the right information from the fujitsu experts

Why won't the compressor won't kick off

sounds to me like you have to change your " room and coil " sensors..they are thermistors that work together to communicate with the pcb and tell the compressor when to turn off. if you can use a multimeter, check the ohmic value(s) they supposed to be between 4k - 10k. with the meter attached warm the thermistors by rubbing them between your fingers and the ohmic values should change.the room sensor can be found on the evaporator coil when you remove the face cover you will see it, the coil sensor will be found on either right or left side of the evaporator inside a piece of tubing. sometimes there is only a room sensor...hope this helps

No heat but fan keeps running

If the air conditioner compressor runs all the time the main control board might be defective. The main control board provides the voltage to the fan motor and compressor. These boards are often misdiagnosed. Check all other components to be certain this is the cause of the problem.

I have a kenmore 18,000 BTU window unit that only blows out warm air . The compressor does come on but shuts right back off.Can you tell me what can be done to repair it . We cleaned coils and filter.

It may simply need to be recharged with refrigerant gas. R134a is the standard refrigerant gas now. But, it's best left to the pros.

Hope this helps and thanks for choosing FixYa.

The panel turns on but the motor does not turn on. The electronic panel is on but the ac has a humming sound without the motor or the compressor turning on.

Hi, This being 18,000 BTU is a 240 volt unit. The electronic in it work at 120 volts. I believe you have only 1/2 the electrical current going to it. Thus the Hum. CHECK YOUR FUSES OR CIRCUIT BREAKER!
A 240 volt circuit breaker has two sides or switches with a bridge between them. One of them may be tripped. Shut off the breaker wait a few seconds then turn it on so that the it engages all the way. It if clicks or pushes your fingers back and prevents you from engaging it, there is a problem likely with the compressor/fan or it's wiring, and it is drawing too much current and requires repair or replacement.

Hope this helps,
Best, Mark

Just put in a new ac unit and replaced a old one. old unit was 18000 btu and the new one is on 12,000 btu I used the same power outlet but the new ac unit starts up but then shuts down and seems like it is...

The 18,000 btu A/C is 230 volts, are you sure the 12,000 btu unit is 230 volts most are 120 volts.
Usually 12,000 btu is the biggest 120 volt A/C you can buy.
