SOURCE: Edge Enhancement Option Disabled...

edge enhancement option i think would be enabled if you are in dynamic or movie mode. What it does is to enhance the contrast of the edges of 2 different colors.

I have the LA32S8, similar specs but only 7000:1 CONTRAST ratio. when playing dvd, i set it to movie mode. Settings vary on different tv and player. you can adjust first the backlight, then brightness then contrast, color and sharpness. the brightness you adjust by choosing the level that shows enough details on dark scenes. adjust if its too dark not to see the details of the scene. contrast, you can set by distiguishing vivid colors of the picture, dont put too much contrast as your picture would look flat. it should have a 3d look, same also with sharpness, you can experiment on the face of a person to show details on the edges.
color you set just enough to make it accurate on color reproduction.

My settings for movie are
contrast 92
brightness 49
sharpness 23
color 57
tint g48 r52
backlight 7
tone warm1
digital NR off
black adjust high
dynamic ocntrast high
gamma +2
edge enhancement on
color space auto

SOURCE: how to disable audio description on LG 32LH3000

First of all, thank you very much George for choosing FIXYA today for your online technical support needs.

See page 136 of the User's Manual for detailed instructions and illustrations on how to disable the AUDIO DESCRIPTION feature on your TV set.

Basically to disable it just press the MENU button on the remote.
Then use the arrow keys to select the AUDIO option.
Then select the AUDIO DESCRIPTION option.
Then use the up / down arrows to toggle the setting to OFF.
Then just exit the MENU.

Here is a direct link to the ONLINE USER'S MANUAL for that model:

To view the Owner's Manual with Operating Instructions just use your mouse to click on the link, which is the underlined and blue highlighted section of text just above. Then select OPEN FILE when prompted.

You may need ADOBE READER installed on your computer to read PDF documents, although many computers already have this type of utility pre-installed.

You can download this free at WWW.ADOBE.COM if necessary. Click on the DOWNLOAD ADOBE READER button on right side of the ADOBE home page when you get there, then follow the onscreen instructions to install the software on your computer.

I truly hope that was helpful to you.

Good luck and take care.

SOURCE: LG 42PX4DV - HDMI Audio / PC Audio IN problem

I found the fix. Had the same problem.
I right clicked on the sound speaker icon in the bottom right of Windows 7.
Chose Playback Devices.
Once this window opens, then make sure you are on the Playback tab.
Scroll down until you see the HDMI Device. (Mine was hidden at the bottom of the list.)
Then choose "set as default".
The sound will begin playing on the TV with only the HDMI connected......no need for an extra audio cable.

How to disable audio description on luxor tv

The captioning comes from your digital box. Look for the button on the remote.

As you recorded it with captions, not sure if you can remove after recording, but worth a try.

Text of the voice sound from my LG smart TV is on all the tme. n

Do you mean that the closed captions are on? Disabling this depends on the video source. If the source is TV (OTA or cable with a coaxial cable), then you need to access the Settings icon after pressing the Home button on the remote. Then go to the Accessibility section. Locate the Closed Caption sub-menu and disable the captions. (Click the appropriate button on the remote to enter menus and change settings.)

If the source is not connected to the RF input, then you probably need to disable the captions at the source. This will depend on the source. For some satellite boxes with a main set-top box that serves a secondary TV, you'll need to disable the captions at the main set-top box. For an ADB IPTV box, press Menu on the remote. Then go to Settings with the arrow keys and press Enter. You may need a pass code from the service provider. Go to the Hardware sub-menu and enter the Audio section. Finally the captions can be disabled in this section. Check the documentation for your source.

If you mean the Voice Narration (audio description), you need to go to the Audio settings section from the Home screen or the Accessibility section (as above) depending on the TV model.

I hope this helps.

I can't get the sound when playing my Panasonic SAPT480 DVD player on my LG UHD TV 4K 55UJ63. I have connected the HDMI cable and the white and red audio cables but no luck.

You shouldn't need red and white cables. Hdmi cable carry both; audio and video. Check settings on both devices if sound over Hdmi is disabled. Maybe TV expect's sound via optiical cable or certain sound format need to be enabled or DVD outputs sound in format not supported by your.

The tv is in a mode where a woman is describing what is happening on the tv. Like if a blind person is watching and we can't figure out how to turn it off.

Hello, Suxy -

If you have the owner's manual for your TV, there is probably information about the SETTINGS and DESCRIPTIVE AUDIO or DESCRIPTIVE VIDEO. If you have the manual, find that section and follow the directions for turning it off.

Otherwise . . .

With the remote control for your TV power the TV on.

Then, press MENU.

The SETTINGS options for the TV should then display.

One of the SETTINGS options will probably be AUDIO or, maybe ACCESSIBILITY.

Since I don't know the make and model of your TV, I am unable to be precise in my directions here.

Eventually, you will need to find the TV setting which relates to audio settings. You will want to turn the Descriptive Audio / Descriptive Video setting off.

Best wishes.

Turn off audio voice over for the blind

This is called Closed Captioning.
Go to the menu via the TV remote control and find the CC options and disable that feature.

Im trying to turn off audio description but cannot find the SAP.Model number LS35 / LS34/ CS46 These numbers are listed on the front of the manual..Thankyou

If it is from programs you have recorded, you need to change the settings on your PVR, not the TV. Each PVR is different so you'll need to check the owners manual for your model.
