In skype go to tools>options>audio setting make sue the microphone is logitech and the green bars should start moving as you talk.
if no logitech appears or the mic is not producing sound. call logitech for warranty info. if the mic is producing sound below is "make a free skype test call" to see if the program is transmitting.

My internal microphone isn't working, it says that it there and nothing wrong, but when you speak it doesnt pick up any sound

Try using different applications that use the microphones like skype or other chat software. You haven't mentioned which OS you are using. Depending on which one, you'd have settings that enables you to choose between multiple microphones like the mic of your headset and the internal mic.

If these do not work, your mic must have become defective and might need to be serviced or repaired.

My turtle beach x1 mic doesnt work when i speak into the mic...how can i fix the mic???

What happens if you try using your X1 with a PC? The X1's green plug goes to the green Line Out (or Front) jack on your PC, while the X1's pink plug goes to the pink Microphone jack on your PC. If the X1 mic works with your PC, then the problem is the chat/controller cable and replacing it should fix the problem. If the mic doesn't work, then the headset will need to be replaced. Turtle Beach should be able to do that for you...

Computer wont recognize the microphone on the turtle beach x4

Can you try using the X1 mic on your PC? Green plug to green jack, pink plug to pink jack, USB plug to USB port. Talk into the X1 mic. Can you hear your voice? If yes, then you probably have a bad chat-controller cable. If no, then your X1 mic may not be working. If that's the problem, you should contact Turtle Beach tech support for help. Turtle beach x1 mic

I found this on the Turtle Beach website:
http://turtlebeach.com/support/index.php?View=entry&EntryID=607418123
This test is to find out if your "Talkback Cable" has failed or the "X1 Mic". It is for the PC only not for the Mac. If it works with the PC but not with the Xbox, then your Mic is good but you need to replace the Talkback Cable.

First, make sure the X1 mic mute switch on the amplifier is turned on. Switch it back
and forth to clear out anything that might have built up on the contacts. If that's
not the problem, then try the X1 mic with your PC to see if the level is OK.
If the X1 does not work on your PC then replacing the 'Puck' will not fix the problem.

Make sure that you do not leave the 'Puck' connected while connecting to PC.

1) Take the pink plug from the X1 and plug it into the pink jack (Microphone input)
on your PC's soundcard.

2) Take the green plug from the X1 and plug it into the green jack (Front L/R Out or
Line Out) on your PC's soundcard.

3) Take the USB plug from the X1 and insert it into a USB port on the PC (not a USB hub)

4) In the soundcard's control software, enable the Microphone for playback.
In the Microphone > Advanced settings, enable the Microphone Boost.

5) Adjust the volume for the Microphone to about half-way up.

6) Adjust the overall playback volume to about half-way up.

7) Put on the headset. Make sure the Mute switch on the X1 amp box is not set to Mute
(the LED should be green).

Now speak into the microphone. Do you hear your voice in the headphones? If so, the
mic works and your X1 headphones should be OK. If you still cannot get the X1 mic to
work over Xbox Live, then you need to take a closer look at Dashboard settings and
other connections, or check the integrity of your X1-Xbox Controller Cable.

******************************

In order to enable the chat make sure that the Mute button in the Off position.
If it is on the ON position the Mic will not work.

Red = Muted
Green = UN-Muted

******************************

To find out if the Xbox Controller Cable 'Puck' has failed, you may also try the 'stock'
cable that came with the Xbox. If the original Xbox cable is working, you know you have
a cable that has failed.

Since these cables have to be lightweight so that they do not "weigh you down" while
playing, caution should be exercised not to pull them or get them caught under furniture
etc.

Microphone fuzz

Try turning the microphone volume down in your sound settings - fuzziness is usually caused by trying to amplify the signal to a higher level than it can carry.

For your own piece of mind, you might also want to check your headset on someone else's machine - that will pretty quickly distinguish between a headset and a computer problem.
