Samsung SCX 4521F: Incoming faxes 'receiving' but fail to print

Hi all,

This is a similar problem but the fixes listed to date have not worked for me.

Problem: Incoming faxes show 'receiving', but fail to print.
Relevant info:
(*) Receive mode is set to 'Fax'. (In the Fax mode, the machine answers an incoming call and immediately goes into fax reception mode).
(*) The toner is not showing 'low' or 'out' and the printer continues to print perfectly.
(*) Just to be sure I set the New Toner to 'Yes' as suggested in this log.
(*) I have also downloaded and installed the latest device drivers from Samsung.

Is there anything else I can / should try?

Hi Regchandra ... not sure what you mean by main board. The printer is quite new and is absolutely "out of the box" standard.
I have completed some more tests since I logged the problem. The fax neither sends nor receives. in both cases I can hear the fax "trill" from the remote fax, but mine does not respond.
Any other suggestions (other than returning it for repair)?

This is now fixed. It was an intermittently faulty USB Connection.

Has the main board been changed??if yes the liu board(modem) board needs replacing.

main board is motherboard,liu is the modem board.

I had samsung scx - 4521f all in one in my office , when incoming fax paper didn't came out yet try to tell receiving fax. i try to troubleshoot with plug out and plug at dailing point still is not...

the phone cord may be in the wrong jack...sometimes cleaning staff will knock the cord out and hook it back in to the wrong plug

Hello,
you have to enter in Tech mode to fix this
type "Menu" + # + 1394 in row.
Then use arrows to enter fax settings and print all your faxes

In 3 second make combination on you Samsung 4521F 'Menu'-#-1-9-3-4. You will enter in tech menu. Select 'toner'-new toner-yes. You will receive faxes. It really works.

Samsung LaserJet prints completely black pages

We had the same problem with our SCX but we replaced the Part #: SCX-4521D3 toner/drum and it worked fine after that. We replaced the starter cartridge with a 3000 print capacity cartridge.
