Possible the fridge thermostat is broken or inaccurate and it is best not to rely on integrated thermometers or temperature indicators as fridges are like ovens and the interior temperature can vary a lot in different places.

Best to use a reliable fridge thermometer. No 1 on the thermostat is usually the warmest setting but be guided by the instruction book and your new thermometer and be prepared to experiment...

SOURCE: Freezer not keeping things frozen

Ice cream requires a significantly lower freezing point than other foods. Keep it near the blowers or coils in most freezers and you'll be OK. Turn up the freezer a bit, and if it is all the way then move it away from the wall a bit more hope this helps!

SOURCE: food stays frozen regardless of temperature setting

It is possible it has a bad thermostat but most likely cause would be a bad damper motor.  It is the vent inside the fridge that opens and closes, based on temp. setting, to allow cold air from the freezer into the fridge section.

Freezer is no longer keeping ice cream solid/frozen

Ice cream is usually kept at -10 degrees to stay firm. Need to check temperature. Look at condenser coil for cleaning. This is usually the most simple and common issue. If not making the desired temp, and the temperature control is set for that temp, and compressor run constant, it is a refrigeration issue. If compressor does not run constant, then a control issue.

My dometic refrigerator is not freezing properly. it is a model 1062-ndr. the ice cream will not stay hard and the temp in the freezer is 18 degrees. the refrigerator part is o.k. and temp is 38 degrees.

If the refrigerator is 38 degrees and the freezer 18 degrees , both are not normal.

Have you used any hard and pointed object to remove any frozen food or Ice before this happen?

Have you notice any oily part coming out in the freezer or at the back of the refigerator which will indicate that there was a leak?

there are few factors that may cause your refrigerator to be like that:

1. A possible leak along with the tubing that will cause to loose the refrigerant which make the refrigerator to produce ice.

2. lost Compression (Motor compressor) this happen eventually specially the refrigerator is more than 10 years old

the best way to find out is to call a technician and have them check it

Temperature control

I would suggest buying a little refrigerator thermometer.
Turn the t-stat all the way up to the coldest setting. Watch the thermometer by checking it from time to time when it reaches 36 to 38 degrees slowly turn the t-stat down till you here the compressor shuts off. Remember water freezes at 32 degrees.

Food gets frozen

If your refrigerator freezes its contents, even when the cold control is set to its lowest setting, its cold control is probably defective. Call an appliance repairperson. As a rule, refrigerators are designed to maintain 37 to 40 degrees F in the refrigerator box and 0 to 5 degrees F in the freezer box. Setting either compartment to lower temperatures generally costs you extra in energy dollars. If the icemaker keeps making ice, even when full: 1) Lift the bail wire to shut it off. 2) Empty the bin, remove the icemaker, clean it, and reinstall it. 3) If the problem persists, consider having an appliance repairperson remove and replace the entire icemaker and valve, a relatively affordable repair. With this type of problem, it's often better to replace the unit rather than to pay for
